another Miles tidbit

Longtime reader here but first post. I was talking with an engineer on a construction project the other day near Louisville, Ky. College football came, up and he was going on and on about U of L's team, I never said anything about LSU or being from La till after he brought this up . He mentioned that his boss is really good friends with Mitch Barnhart at UK. Said they were all out to eat or something the other day and Les Miles was quite the topic with Barnhart. I thought that was interesting. FWIW

They talked about hiring him. The dude may have been blowing total smoke at me but that's what he said.

If UK didn't fire Mark Stoops after going 4-20 in the SEC his first 3 years, they certainly aren't going to fire him when he's 4-3 this year and has an outside chance of winning the East.

An acquaintance's boss is friends with a UK guy who discussed Les Miles a few days ago at dinner.

Miles name was tossed around when Kentucky was on their way to another bowl-less season. I think the tone has changed there and when Kentucky becomes bowl eligible with a win over Austin Peay, Stoops will get another year. If they beat Tennessee as well, Stoops is completely safe.

I live in Waco and his name keeps coming up for the vacancy here. Under the circumstances, I think many Baylor fans would be very happy with him. I would tune into every press conference.

According to DD, Miles has a decent chance at ND and Texas. I'm skeptical that those jobs will be vacant and that Miles would get them, however I know he is thought of more highly nationally than by LSU fans.
