I know. Another game rewatch thread. But this was a huge win.
The missed int from Auburn was huge. Then Gage made a big play.
Greedy made a great pass break up play that saved a TD.
It started looking like we had what it took to win the game in the 3rd quarter when Etling made a huge throw and Chark made a great back shoulder catch. We didn't score on the drive, but I think it started giving guys confidence.
The punt return by Chark was obviously huge. There were no call worthy block in the backs. Even Gary agreed. Jacoby Stevens made a great block on the return.
Auburn receivers made mistakes. No doubt it had a lot to do with tough man to man coverage from our DBs. I don't think they could do many short throws because our guys were playing tight. They tried to go over the top, but no Auburn WRs could make a play like Chark and Gage did.
We had no fear of Stidham running the ball. We played defense that way. We couldn't do that against MSU as Fitzgerald was able to run easily. Whenever Stidham did try to run, Devin White was all over his arse.
After the PR TD, everyone played like men on a mission. Chark made some great catches. The defense was mean and played with swagger. Something that's been missing from the team in past games this year. Guice is slowly getting healthier and playing like his old self.
Etling is very safe with the ball. When our defense plays like they did, he can do that. The biggest mistake I saw him make was the intentional grounding. Even the almost int had more to do with Gage stopping on the route. Whether it was because he was held, or a miscommunication, he didn't finish the route.
Just my two cents. Great game. Proud of my Tigers. It's something to build on.
