Would be possible around week 4 or so between Jefferson and Shepard. Because "Shephard is that good, he has the skills of Percy Harvin and the leadership of Tim Tebow"

Anyone else catch this? Don't know the announcers name.

and where in that statement did he mention passing...you know, the main job of a QB?

Not this part though.

"Shephard is that good, he has the skills of Percy Harvin and the leadership of Tim Tebow"

That statement is really not that far off. Shepard is more electric with the ball that i think a lot of people on here realize. And he does have great leadership qualities.

Shepard is extremely special. I really like Jefferson at qb, but Shepard is gonna give him a serious run. With that said, I hope we play the best guy.

Competition is a good thing, but I don't think there is much of a controversy. I like Shepard in "specialty" packages this year with a triple option, but only if he has the arm to make the throws and the brain to make the right decision.

Does he have all that right now, today at the college level? I don't know, but when Miles trusts him with those two things he will play.

I did catch it...no need for us to get offended, as it was completely complimentary....actually hyping the replay of the LSU-UW game....they ended by saying that if we were winning, there would be no QB controversy....I agree...

He will be 3rd string QB.

this is probably true.. he was awesome in HS.. however, comparing him to Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin, and a hybrid at that, is pretty ridiculous when he hasnt played a down..

If RS throws 20 passes this season, I will be in total shock. Not happening. From all indications, he has a ways to go.

I'm just hoping he's got the arm to avoid another "Marcus Randall is coming in, it's gonna be a QB draw" situation. But even if it is the D still has to catch him which is something our D had a hard time doing in the spring game.

These guys don't do their own research. That was a direct quote of Spencer Tillman on the college special last week, for those that saw it,evidently this guy did.

russell actually has been throwing the ball very well at practice and in the scrimmages. thats part of the reason that they feel so confident playing him a lot this year bc its not just about athleticism. it's just that his throwing isnt better than jordan's yet. that doesnt mean that shite cant pass currently though, which some of you are implying

Everyone has an opinion on LSU QB situtation but we Ranters know the real. we rant everyday, get practice updates, listen to interviews and moniter every player. It kills me when outsiders make these bold senseless predictions

The real controversy will be 2 years from now when Shep will be a junior and Jefferson a senior.
