I do appreciate the adjustments they made after game 1 this weekend. That was great to see!!!
That being said... I think we can attribute a lot of those numbers to the experience. No freshman out in the field. At least 5 upper classmen every game. And with the current lineup, only 1 sophomore: Fraley.

Ehh... that plays a part. Swing plane of a lot of players has changed though. We have hit a shite ton more line drives this years, compared to the amount of fly outs from last season.

I think it's a big part.
I really do love Andy's hands-on approach. I think it's important for adjustments in the middle of a weekend or even a game.
But I'm not really seeing what you're seeing with the swing planes. I just see guys swinging at better pitches; being more disciplined overall.

Scivicque's swing is night and day from what it was last year. Same for Hale as well.

Yeah, but those BBQ nights will be missed.

I like Andy's hire. I think the Tigers are going to do special things this year.
24 games and the team is averaging 7.25 runs per game.
Pitching will only get even better !

Since he's Italian, I hear Canni makes a mean spaghetti sauce.

I'll give you that one. Hale just seems to have gotten stronger. I haven't seen anything different with the swing. But I'll take a closer look this week. It's not really something I've been looking for.

team is hitting better under andy, javi had swings messed up.

Scivicque would pull off of everything. Popups galore. Even in the fall. Now, he's staying on the ball and through the zone much longer. I've seen him crush more curveballs so far this year than the number he put in play last year. And he's going to both gaps.

yea, same with Hale. Both are really using the whole field. I think he has changed the approach, definitely. I love Andy but im not sure he is advanced enough to mess with swing planes.

Loved the hire when it happened and he has not disappointed so far.

Jared Foster also looks much more comfortable and confident at the plate.
Even A. Bregman, who always exuded confidence, seems more comfortable and is hitting more balls flush than he was last year.
I expect his numbers to go up when some of those hard hit balls start finding a hole.

I'm not sure if it is the approach or swing planes, but the guys are definitely more comfortable and more aggressive at the same time.

Scivicque's swing
His approach at the plate is much better this year. Last year he was an easy out in the SEC because he was impatient and guessing on off speed pitches. Every team seemed to have the scouting report on him.
This year, he hits fastballs like it's BP. But he has been great with curves and sliders too. His weight stays back and he recognizes off speed like he knows what's been thrown.
Easily, Kade S is the most improved hitter along with Foster.

Yes another poster and I were discussing this today. He has done a very good job.

Yep. But that comes with time in the program usually.
