Am I the Only one........

....who thinks BSU losing might not really help LSU any? I'm glad to get another pretender out of the way, but when I look at the potential aftermath, I see there will be about 1200 votes in the Harris and 700 votes from Coaches that will be split between LSU, Stanford, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and maybe Oklahoma St and Michigan St. Oh, and some will go to TCU as well. I'm not sure LSU makes any appreciable gains from this. Second, I see that BSU was below LSU in the computer polls, but ahead of all these other one-loss teams. Since I would expect them to fall pretty far in the computers, I would guess that means that the other teams close ranks on LSU in the computers, all things being equal.
That being said, it is fortuitous that LSU has a highly ranked opponent in Arkansas this weekend, and needs to WIN THE GAME on the road to make sure we get the lion's share (TIGER'S SHARE!!) of those free votes.

Probably, but next week's poll is the one that counts. Ohio St will get some love for beating Michigan just because it's Michigan. Wisonsin plays Northwestern today, Stanford plays Oregon St, and Oklahoma St plays Oklahoma. All of these are also legitimate opponents. Hopefully, Arkansas will be a better "skin" on the wall for the Tigers and make us a strong 4th in BCS going into next week.

Which really doesn't matter. If we win, and Auburn wins, we go to the Sugar. If we lose, or if we win and Auburn loses, we get left out of the BCS.

It leaves open a very small crack in a door for a NC. If TCU and Oregon lose, we are back in it.
But, I actually mostly agree with you. The "top 4" deal isn't really that big. It won't matter if AU stays above LSU with a loss to SC. Plus, if AU won and LSU was #5 I think we were a shoe in for the Sugar anyway

If we beat Ark., I would think we would jump TCU and be number 3. Then if Aub. loses to SC or Oregon to Oregon St. shouldn't we move up again. IDK, I'm just asking. Thats just what I think.

Not sure I agree we will jump TCU, but OK, if we play your game, then I also don't think it helps us enough to put us in the final game against Auburn or Oregon over some other one-loss squads who will be that much closer in the computers because BSU is no longer there. Right now, our computer ranking is a real difference maker vs Wisconsin and Stanford.

I don't know if we jump them either, I was kinda asking to see if it was possible for that to happen. I hope we can stay ahead of the other one loss teams. But we have to show up good in Little Rock today for any of this to matter to me anyway. God I hope we have a good win today.
