Am I the only one that thinks this is still a really good baseball team?

I can't believe how many dudes are on here whining that we shouldn't be top 8 and Arkansas is about to sweep.

I get it. 2-4 ain't how you wanna start with 2 series losses and we should have won the Florida series but choked away the game on Saturday which is incredibly frustrating.

This team is still extremely solid, the pitching staff is deep and the talent absolutely is there.

Obviously they're not playing their best right now but I just can't believe how many softies there are saying this team sucks.

Baseball is a long season and this team isn't going to be the same team in 2 months. I still really like the makeup of this team and could easily see them deep in Omaha.

Maybe in the only one or I'm drinking the Koolaid but I this is the best team since 2017 outside of the 2023 squad.

I don't think Milam is going to stay in this slump, I think Tommy white will hit his stride, I like the play of Ethan Frye, Josh Pearson is coming on strong, Jared Jones would have had 2 more jacks this weekend without that wild wind, Travinskis tearing the seams off the ball, mac is playing well. We have a deep staff and a top flight Friday guy.

They're not perfect snd their not playing their best ball but there is such a long ways to go.

Right now they aren’t a good baseball team. But that can change.

An average team almost took 2 from a top 5 team.

This was inarguable just a month ago. A 2-4 SEC start, while concerning, doesn't change that.

Sure. But they didn't.

Not the only one. I think this is a team that can still repeat.

I want to hope you are right. They seem to be underachieving now but there is so much season left.

Yes they will figure it out down the stretch.

All the melters must have forgotten how they struggled in the regular season last year and figured it out when it mattered. Johnson knows what he is doing.

Going through growing pains. But they are pains.

But baseball can be a forgiving sport and there's lots of baseball to be played.

No, I think they have a ton of talent, and they are having trouble with young guys getting used to the SEC competition. I'm optimistic that they will come around and be a contender for the National Championship.

When a top team plays another top team, as LSU did this past weekend, you expect each team to win one somewhat comfortably and for one game to be a nail-biter. Well, that's what happened. It's concerning that Sunday was more of a pillow-biter than a comfortable win, but we clinch the series on Saturday if we make a play that Milazzo normally makes 9 out of ten times.

That one little thing changes the nature of this conversation, so we are better than most realize, and we have a lot of potential for improvement. Before this season is over our pitching staff is going to be great. Hopefully our hitting can become good.

SP has been good, sometimes great. Holman & Jump are a VERY good 1-2.
RP has been inconsistent. Backend must be able to get outs.
Looking fwd to seeing Noot pitch in April.
DEF has not been bad, but the mistakes very often hurt a struggling pitcher.
OFF has been literally 'hit & miss'. 3 hits on Sunday is NOT going to get it done. We have to hit SEC pitching and in this area you have to believe we will get better as the season unfolds. Frey's bat needs to be in the lineup.
This team' BEST BASEBALL is still ahead of them.

Too many zeros in the lineup to compete in the SEC this year. There would have to be a major turnaround in 3-4 spots.
