I agree. Travis had too much time and 1 on 1 was covered good enough but talent prevailed.

For us to win we needed to hang in a shootout.

don't think they were great by no means

They were just outclassed. There were a handful of plays were we were in position, but they still made the big play. That's what happens when a QB trusts talented receivers (not that we'll ever know)

The scheme of having them play almost a quarters scheme was insane. They were often times so far off the WR and they were running free. Whole game plan was terrible.

FSU will have gross mismatches on every team they play this year. We were just the first in line.

I chalk up a good number of completions and “should’ve beens” to inability to maintain containment and a lot of time to throw. Even the best will suffer from a “10 Mississippi “ rush

Nobody can cover for 6 seconds. Gotta get pressure

I agree with you to some degree. I think tackling was bad but the secondary didn’t get much help because there was rarely an effective pass rush and it’s hard to hold coverage when Travis scrambled out of the pocket. There were a lot of contested catches, where they were in great position but lost.

They were in position to make some plays but got out played athletically on some of those balls. Their receivers were just better.
This.

Most of the catches were contested by the DB’s but the receivers made the plays.

Those two giants are gonna be a nightmare for everyone they play this year.

I felt like the LBs in zone were really abused this game.

We could not match up against their receivers or tight ends. The few times we played man we got beat pretty easily. Which is why House played mainly zone. And with an experienced QB and no pass rush you're going to get beat because the QB is going to find the holes all game. Which is exactly what happened. They were not "lost" like our linebackers were in coverage but they could not match up against FSU.
