It's hard to figure how they justified the south end zone expansion with the recent decline in attendance.

Don't act like there are no teams in a power 5 that want to do a home and home.

Of course. But people are ignoring the extremely fluid and complicated nature of scheduling. Plans are made years in advance and very often change, and you have to scramble. There are conflicts that arise involving other teams' schedules and our schedules. I promise you we aren't the only teams scheduling FCS teams (or non power 5) and I also promise you that the AD isn't doing it just to piss you off.

The south end zone expansion was all about suites and club seats pal...98% were presold and VERY high margins....you should read up on things before making uninformed posts

Every ticket available for season ticket purchasing has been sold, so the demand was obviously there too

Does alleva REALLY want to make the game day experience the best in the country and keep butts in the seats?

here's some suggestions:

quote:

1. wifi upgrades. People want to get on facebook. DWI.

2. beer sold before kickoff until halftime. more beer sold = less incidents and binge drinking

3. show highlights and scores of ongoing games during commercial breaks.

4. more mass transit choices around campus

5. better coordination of contraflow

6. one time re-entry into the stadium WITH your ticket

7. more available trash cans throughout tailgating areas.

Just don't act like everybody and their mom is scared to play us at home because that just isn't true.

Alleva loves playing in these neutral site games in Texas. Call a spade a spade.

When I was a student I saw tons of the international/minority students, they love the spectacle of it. It's the white hipster crowd that is not coming.

Need to sell alcohol in the stadium, more concession stands and better parking and contra flow during gameday. Those three things will improve everything dramatically.

a seat sold does not equal a butt in a seat.

that's such a small, niche crowd anyways so i don't think they are skewing attendance numbers exactly.

I agree to a point....it IS all about the $ now but, at some point the Ath. Admin. simply has to start thinking about the paying and attending fans !
More neutral site games, more shitty home OOC games, more season ticket price increases, less parking, more marginal concessions, less "use" of video boards to actually SHOW the ATTENDING fans, what else is going on in the conference/nation via video hi-lites,more things to entice people to come to and stay at the games...shall I go on ?
Granted, a few baby steps have been made i.e. great chance the bulk of our home games will be at nite { remember all the morons who claimed this could not happen because of TV contracts ?...Well what happened ? Aleva finally stood up and demanded something be done to protect some of LSU's traditions....suddenly the SEC is going to help..LOL...contracts ARE a negotiation by definition...about time the admins got off their keisters !!!

Some players leave early for the draft so whats the big deal if some students leave early for a game?

Jesus this was dumb. ESPN is going to help and we'll get the Bama game at night every other year. CBS still gets first choice

I know not EVERYONE is scared. It's absolutely a factor, though. Do you really not see the motivating factors for the other teams? Big payday and don't have to play in TS.

He does. Money, exposure, marquee opponent and a great experience for the players that actually play the games. Sounds terrible. Of course I wish we could play marquee games in Tiger Stadium all the time. I also want us to go 15-0 every year for the rest of my life, so...

Just how is that dumb ?
The conference commissioner goes on record agreeing that LSU should have its' nite game tradition acknowledged and somewhat "protected" by the broadcasters ! Is this not what you heard/saw ?
For years and years, you never heard a peep about our traditions, only those of the conference elite. Finally, someone bitched enough to actually get some notice....
