There are a few ways to do this.

Best career statistically at LSU
Contribution to LSU
Best players overall which brings in their Pro Careers.

Hunter has averaged 10.1 sacks a season in the NFL and he’s not 29 yet. He had 4.5 career sacks at LSU.

On this all time LSU team do we have all-time coaches? Or do we have Brick Haley?

I alkost Went with Corey Webster over Mo.

Corey Webster had an insane career at LSU and had a good NFL career and gets overlooked a lot

I think The Thorpe award swayed it but honestly I may change it to Webster

2x All American
16 career Interceptions. Back to back 7 pick seasons.

Billy gets written off because he is old and white. But his times from the 50s would still have him as one of the fastest on the team today. He ran a 100 yard dash in 9.4 seconds. That is flying. It converts to a 10.28 100 meter run. Who even today on our team could run that? Maybe 1 other guy. Maybe. Fournette ran a 10.68 for reference

He also was huge considering how damn fast he was

You can also go by actually watching and seeing the players play.

For example, I said Wendell Davis at a WR, and Dalton Hilliard at RB. I don't care that they might not have the numbers some more recent guys have had, they were just as good.
Hilliard had more moves and cuts than Barry Sanders, he just didn't have breakaway speed... prob didn't have regular speed. His thighs were so huge he ran bowlegged. Probably would chafe if he ran a 40. But a beast in the game.

Re Wendell Davis, somebody (I think it was Chris Carrier) once told me that in practice, you could drop quarters on the field to lay out a route, and Wendell could run his routes with his eyes closed and hit the quarters- and then open his eyes after the last cut and catch the pass from Hodson. Again, no blazing speed, just a pure technician.

Defensive line, we've have tons of guys, I don't think I have seen better than Leonard Marshall. Lots that might be as good, or almost as good. None better.
Same thing to say about Michael Brooks at Linebacker.

You can’t leave Josh Reed off WR list. Over 3,000 yards with almost 2900 of it coming in 2 seasons

Yeah if your doing WR's at LSU only in college . You cant leave of Reed.

If you’re thinking about how they would actually play as a team you need to think about how they would play together. For example assuming you start with Burrow, I think Faulk would make a more complimentary RB1 for him than Fournette would.

everything Fournette was supposed to be

as good as collins was both in hs and colelge, LF was better at both levels.

go watch the youtubes of Cecil and then watch LF in his soph year and the OM game in his junior year when he was healthy

LF was better

both looked like they were shot out of a rocket when they hit the hole.

Doc Fenton not on the list? I guess Burrow would probably be the choice for QB these days, but this list looks mighty shallow and limited to players in recent years. I don't see anyone on this list who is even 50 years old as of today's date.

Replace Clayton with Jamar Chase and look at replacing Jefferson with Dwayne Bowe

Defense, you have to have Pat Peterson, Glenn Dorsey, Honey badger (as a safety or nickel), Devin White, Laron Landry, Bradie James, and Corey Webster

Not sure who else as we’ve had so many stud DL, backers, and DB’s.

Just say anyone before 2015 team needs not apply. Then in 2040 no one from 2030 or before needs to apply. I’m I doing it right? Michael Brooks could play in any era. Leonard Marshall could play in any era. Jeffery Dale could play in any era. Etc

Because he played for LSU from 1945-1948. Are you really going to pick him over Joe Burrow?
