Defenders are saying he is a great coach worth keeping as long as he doesn't actually do any coaching at all.

That's what gets me too. You'd think if he was just a CEO type of coach on the sidelines he could at least be able to manage the clock.

When I think of Les Miles during an LSU game, I picture:

1) We had a bad year. Cam Cameron is gone. No way the boosters allow Les to keep him. We are going get a good OC for once. 2) Top recruiting class complied onto top of past two years. LSU will be back next year with a stiff defense and competent offense.

I wish this were true because I really like Les. He is and has been good for Louisiana, LSU and the players. He does genuinely care about people not just the wins and loses. But its went too far and he has been to stubborn with his interfering with the offense. LSU will look bad nationally in the media letting such a successful coach go. But it is time, better to cut bait now before it rots on the line. It is a huge gamble, because you never know how the next coach will work out. But IMO its better to do it now while we are still considered a top program rather than in a few years when we have become what Texas is now.

Maybe BDP was brought in as the super secret coach in waiting and Les is just trolling us all

yes and if we let Les stay around much longer we will turn into Texas, it is the exact same situation with a coach that was good has become stale

I think we would have to over pay whomever we would hire since it's a very good possibility that they would be looking for a job the following year.
