here is the math for those of you that don't believe it's that small of a number.
if you get a team into the playoffs, the conference gets $6 million.
the SEC splits their revenue equally amounts the 14 teams, with the exception of the playoff team getting a larger cut than the other 13 teams.
I'm not sure how much more exactly the playoff team gets vs the rest, but if you divide that $6 million by the 14 teams in conference it's only around $428k.
so the number LSU loses is south of that.

I feel compelled to support the SEC as much as the SEC supports LLSU. Which is to say, not at all, unless self interest requires it.
The SEC promotes Alabama and, more recently UGA.
The SEC looks the other way when Dallas Turner targets a Heisman leader on a conference team.

Yeah, by playing against a weak SEC helps LSU reach greatness? Why don't we drop out and join the Southland.
