Do coaches when they see a sinking ship hold back ideas or things to right the ship figuring when they get the job still use the ideas instead of telling them to the head coach or were these things told to miles and he just said no? Things like making a struggling special teams coach only coach special teams seems so simple

I'm sure Ed made suggestions. Perhaps he held back some because he didn't want to be perceived as stepping on his peers. But I'm sure he told Miles his views, both when asked and when appropriate.

Don't fault him for doing what he deems best when his role changes.

Have you ever dealt with an extremely stubborn person? Eventually, people stop trying to help them because they know the stubborn person will only ignore them and do what they want anyway. I'm pretty sure dealing with Les was like this.

Sometimes all the coaching in the world can't fix poor punting. Sometimes you need to change the punter, recruit a better one the next season, or in this instance, fire the coach for not doing my other two suggestions.
