If they were told they had a free play then it may not have been lollygagging...

Big if, though.

More than one play, though. 2-3 plays they blew time just taking too long to get lined up and the play off.

I hate to say it, but LF was the biggest problem... walking onto the field after he got hurt took more than 10 seconds off the clock in just that one play. But there were others too.

On top of the were the WR choices to stay in bounds, but I'm trying to stick with not having to even need anything different in the outcome of the plays, just the urgency in between them with the clock ticking.

I totally agree with you. A couple of players were obviously in a state of frustration and aggravation. That same old failing shite had to be grating their nerves just as badly as it did the fans'.

I suspect there is concern that many who have NFL aspirations (LF, Beckwith, Adams, Pocic, Dupre, etc.) may just throw in the towel and start looking towards next season

Bruh, the only guy on the team that could shut it down and be a first round lock is Fournette, the others will be playing their asses off to get a high grade and higher numbers.. and fournette aint throwing in any towel, LSU has an insurance policy on him and he is too damn competitive.

Firing Les may come across as the powers that be throwing in the towel on this season and looking towards the next as well. If LSU wants to have any success the rest of the way, those guys have to buy in.

So you're suggesting that these guys are just going to stop trying in what amounts to their "contract" year? Why would players with hopes of playing in the NFL next year stop trying and see their draft stock fall? That's not how it works.
