They didn't say it directly but both said the players deserve a better opportunity to win. They needed to pull on the same side of the rope...have energy and all pull for each other. I like it.

You could watch the team and see the frustration.
Les wasn't giving these kids the best chance to succeed and it was pretty obvious.

I didn't really hear that.
The rope thing is the same team meeting exercise he used at USC when he took over as interim. I think he is describing the importance of unifying the team and fanbase for this one year.

I suspect there is concern that many who have NFL aspirations (LF, Beckwith, Adams, Pocic, Dupre, etc.) may just throw in the towel and start looking towards next season. Firing Les may come across as the powers that be throwing in the towel on this season and looking towards the next as well. If LSU wants to have any success the rest of the way, those guys have to buy in.

I mean that is one way to interpret it. Looked to me like he was telling Miles what he saw out there and/or what went wrong because Miles seemed to immediately radio up to Cam on the headset. I was trying to read their lips and Miles seemed to say "Cam" a few times after he pulled down the mic.
