Not sure about previous years, but at the Saints preseason games this year you just have to walk through a metal detector, only have to remove your keys and cell phone, and they only wanded like 1/2 the people that went through. So you should be able to sneak in an all plastic container of booze
ETA: I did this at Bayou Country at the dome and never got caught

Not sure if the same, but I was at a concert at Champions Square last month and mixed drinks were cheaper than beer.
