Yeah no one is comparing the education systems here. We are saying that you have an annoying gump yelling into the PA system, and it's unbearable.

For what it is worth, LSU used to have a male cheerleader on the mic during games too...but that was in like 1987. So welcome to the 80's, Alabama! They used to do cheers like "H-O-L-D, hold that line". Ghey as hell too. I think the "male cheerleader on the mic" thing was fairly common at a lot of schools a long time ago, but got phased out thankfully.

IIRC, Auburn still has a 'mic-man', which is more than enough reason for us to stop. But I do know that ESPN made it a lot worse during the TN game by sticking a mic right in front of his PA system

More than likely, as someone just alluded to, this guy is not THAT loud, but ESPN screwed up and placed a crowd mic right near him.
The producer of the broadcast then compounded the initial eff up by not sending a PA over there to rip the mic out and place it elsewhere in the Stadium, thereby ruining the broadcast for the viewers at home.
Its a simple issue, & one that CBS seems unlikely to repeat.
