since when does bama of all teams have to resort to a gimmick play?
They pulled out a trick play for their first touch down in the Iron Bowl. I believe it was a flea-flicker.

It wasn't just Richardson we shut down in the second half. It was their entire rushing game.
Think about it. They had 36 yards rushing in the second half, and that is not including sacks and including a 24 yard run by Richardson. Let that seep in for some people.
If you take the rest of the 2nd half rushes outside of the 24 yarder, they had 11 carries for 12 freaking yards.
Again. They moved it well for exactly 1 quarter.

Again, if 295 yards is moving the ball well, then I guess they did.

Our defense was great, particularly from the mid 2nd quarter on.
One think I think we need/can do better 2nd time around is get more pressure on McCarron. most of the game we didn't get pressure on him, but when we did in OT, he threw a bad pass and took a sack.

Weren't two of those long arse field goal attempts off of picks?

Yup. The first one was the 49 yarder that was blocked after they picked up 2 first downs. The second was after the second pick and was the made 46 yarder.

Too bad moving the ball well doesn't mean you win the game.
Posted on 12/12/11 at 1:28 am to Geaux2002
TR had 15 carries of 3 yards or less.

They moved the ball well until they got inside LSU's 30. Alabama had negative yardage in plays run inside of LSU's 25.

they had to resort to putting in a db to throw a pass
wait? when did that happen.. i missed that lol

We stalled at the 30, no question. LSU's D certainly tightened up and give credit where credit is due. We also took TR out too much and stopped running the plays that got us there. Saban made mistakes; we should've punted or gone for it on several of those 4th downs.
All that said, we did move the ball a good deal better than LSU:
Flame away.

I guess scoring 6 points and getting inside the 25 yard line one time is moving the ball very well, what a joke.

They must have been watching a different game. I don't recall them getting inside LSU's 30
What game did you watch????
1st QT 1st-10, LSU23 4:40 Alabama committed 5 yard penalty
2nd QT 1st-10, LSU24 15:00 M. Maze rushed to the right for 6 yard loss
2nd QT 1st-10, LSU19 6:10 A. McCarron passed to M. Williams to the right for 1 yard gain

I don't trust those stats. According to them, it was a tie ball game. No wonder y'all feel we didn't really win.

No, the "end of half" is the first FG. Those are the correct stats.

where is the 2nd LSU field goal in regular time?

Your "drive summaries" have major flaws today, same as they did when you posted the same ones and were corrected on here a few days ago. Guess you don't pay attention very well!
For example, under LSU drives, it shows LSU took over at it's OWN 15 yard line at 1:06 of the 3rd qtr., moved 2 yds in 3 plays before kicking a field goal (the FG itself was the 4th play). That would mean the FG would have been a 100 yarder !!!! (kicked from LSU's 17 yd line, and adding the standard 17 yards to the kick from the line of scrimmage. This "drive" was OBVIOUSLY the Claiborne interception, which he returned to the ALABAMA 15, where the drive started.
Another example, in the "Alabama drives", is the one that started at 9:47 of the 3rd quarter on the ALABAMA 35 yard line, only went 6 yards in 4 plays to the ALABAMA 41, and then kicked a FG which would have been a 76 yard FG !! ( 59+17). Again, OBVIOUSLY, they started that drive on the LSU 35 after the interception, not the Alabama 35.
I'm amazed such obvious errors didn't jump off the page at you. If I were you, I'd bury this mistake-riddled "chart" once and for all.

I was thinking the same thing Smith is a idiot and is still mad we beat The OSU and made him look stupid on Nov 5. What gets me you never hear him say how Bama was -17 yards inside the 30 or that LSU out rushed Bama in the game. I can't wait for Jan 9 and we do repeat of the rebeat.

Robert Smith and the Gumps don't understand the concept of "bend but don't break".....We shut them down when we needed to.

What you stated tells us nothing about how well or not well a team moved the ball. What difference does it make to you what Robert Smith says? Does everyone have to agree with LSU fans about LSU?
So do you think Alabama moved the ball very well against LSU?
