Aggressive play calling always results in a few WTF moments

It's the nature of the beast. Sure. We had a couple of calls last night that you'd like to have back. It happens on defense too when you get burned while in a blitz.

Bottom line though is that aggressive play calling puts constant mental pressure on your opponent. Aggressive offensive play calling is what causes the occasional WR to be running ten yards in the clear while DBs yell at each other.

Of course it comes with risks. But, I'd rather see that then playing so safe you miss opportunities. Playing it safe is an illusion. It's much harder to spot missed opportunities but they are there nonetheless.

Go down swinging! If our coach, ANY coach lays 400+ yards and 40 points on a team, he can have the occasional brain fart as far as I'm concerned

The safety was playing honest on those big fournette runs

Yep. I almost peed myself when the FB was able to block a linebacker who was still two yards off the LOS instead of in the hole.

The early game offensive play calling was awful and the play action pass while pinned was highly questionable.
We won so we can learn from it and move on.

We are so used to conservative ball control that makes few mistakes (but also makes little opportunities) that so many are willing to lose their minds over a turnover to set up points.

If this team is any good, we'll get back out there the next drive and cancel it out. We need to be that good. So far, Coach O has us that good.

It was, but I can't help but believe that it set up the defense to allow Fournette's big runs.

Our D is improving in every half of football we play. I have never seen that happen at LSU even in 2011. And our O, running the same plays Cam put in but from different formations, looks like a completely different offense. It is hard to believe this team is the same one that lost at Lambeau.

Yep. I think they were seriously afraid of Etling burning them for long passes. What they didn't realize is that even an 80% Fournette could burn them for rushes just as far as a pass.

Perhaps. They did have less than 8 in the box on all those runs which is unheard of.

they were forced to play us honest dam near every down and in every situation which resulted in a lot of room for Fournette to run.

It wasn't the call. It was the execution.

We were rushing the ball down their throat and the situation made play action a reasonable gamble if you want to keep pressure on the other team.

Up 8 1:03 left own 15 rushing it for 22 yards per carry........... Run it !!!!!! If you do throw throw something quick. My only problem with the placating all night.

We don't need to be overly aggressive. That's crazy, and unnecessary.

I'll take this offense a thousand times over the one I've seen since 2011.
