Despite all the questionable calls by the officiating, why the coaches don’t have faith in Burrow and at least one of our receivers to complete a 5 yd slant or 6 yd hitch to ice game on 3rd and 4? How we can’t throw a fade route to Chase or have Jefferson run a crisp route to take a couple of shots at the TD to ice the game during overtime #4? Absolutely maddening to me that we are that inept at seizing the moment in doing the things WE could control in taking that next step as a program! 10-2 and a NY6 bowl would have had us taking that next step in competing for a championship. All about the process.

It's called having no balls.

Part of the same disease that plagued the entire les Miles tenure.

But then we have the nerve in overtime to run a halfback pass to the fullback and let Burrow hit Anderson on a 25yd fly route for a td. No rhyme or reason to anything we do.

Another way of looking at it is that you trust your defense with a little over a minute and no timeouts for A&M to drive the whole field.

If you put the ball in the air and it gets tipped and intercepted you would forever regret doing it.

I would rather take my odds that A&M doesn’t basically convert 2 miracle 4th downs to tie it up.

Sure, hindsight’s 20/20, but I’m not going to get too worked up over a judgement call.

You don’t think the defense ever gets tired of that bullshite? Putting the game squarely on their shoulders? An already depleted defense that played their asses off up to that point.

It’s my biggest gripe with the game. That and Giles.

These scenarios cost Miles games vs Bama. Games we had in the bag.

Not really, no. I think they go out there and say let’s close this thing out.

Credit to A&M for making plays, but that was a miraculous sequence of events. Delpit drops an INT right in his breadbasket. Then immediately gets another one overturned by in my mind a questionable review of Monds knee. Then there’s the conversions. It was unbelievable the sheer luck they had. Everything went their way.

Coach O played his odds and A&M won on the river card.

seizing the moment

When has O ever seized the moment in his head coaching career?

We were 2-2 in November and 5-3 in the SEC. Seems as if not a fricking thing has changed

Didn't have any against ND in the Bowl game last year either.

I don't want a HC without balls (We already have an AD without any) at LMSU.

Thks. I been saying this for 5 or 6 yrs. I for the life of me, don’t get how we don’t rep enough at practice to be able to complete a 5 yd slant, 6 yd hitch, 7 yd out route etc... for a situation like 3rd and 4. Jefferson, Chase, Anderson all would seem capable enough for us too complete a high percentage pass like that.

One of the OTs they went first, kicked a FG
We went down to the five or so, or third down instead of throwing to the TE or Sullivan in the end zone we ran burrow for no gain and kicked a FG

One of the biggest WTFs in a game brimming with WTFs

That’s the question my OP is asking. After completion got us down to the 7 yd line, why not throw a fade to Chase or quick slant to Jefferson? Take some shots at the end zone? Show that ur trying ur arse off to win the game. Risk an interception? So let’s play conservative, be content with tieing it up only to lose the game later on anyway.

Same reason they didn't go for the TD against Notre Dame in the bowl game last year from the 6 inch line...No BALLS!!!!

The trick halfback -pass play they pulled off in OT would have been even more effective on 2nd down during that last drive in regulation....

The head coach isn't smart enough to play percentages and doesn't have a feel for the game.

It's all ad hoc and randomly selected.
