Etling looked the exact same in a more "open" offense. People act like he is always on point. His passing was on par with BH all last year.

You literally couldn't be any more wrong.

Every QB under Les was bad for different reasons you can't lumped them in a group. JJ was scared to throw it and held onto the ball until a receiver was open, J Lee was scared to get hit in the pocket and would throw it into coverage, Met was Mett and was great, Jennings just wasn't a SEC QB that was bad recruiting, Harris had all the talent in the world just couldn't control it. This is in no way shape or form defending Les or Cam because they messed up the position with recruiting and Game planning. The players hold some blame too.

Harris seems like a good guy but I just feel like he was never told he was wrong a day in his life until he got to LSU and he fought Les and Cam's coaching just as much as they were fighting to control his abilities. Combine bad coaching with a guy that doesn't take coaching well and you have what LSU had.

This has been numerically proven on this board time and time again. Harris played every down with one or two WR's. Etling's first snap had three or four. Nobody knew what to expect after that. Etling made just as many horrible decisions and bad throws as BH but fans who just hate BH will make every excuse for it.

Some people here have gotten carried away with how "good" Etling is. For starters, sure he's tough, but he won't start longer with everyone knowing he will try to prove his toughness and won't slide. He will get knocked out of more games this year. Second, he better learn how to hit the deep ball. That dink and dunk last year padded his stats severely and will shrink the field.

I'm all for whoever Canada trots out this year, but if he plays like last year, we still won't win sht. I hope he has learned to slide or get down and how to place the ball downfield. He also needs to know how to pick up first downs with his feet more often when the field is wide open and everyone is covered. Time to let this go until the season.

BS, the same offense and opportunity was given to Mett. He did great.
Mett did great on 3rd down. He didn't get many opportunities on 1st and 2nd. But the offense didn't suck; Les Miles' use of the offense sucked.

That boy (harris) thinks way to highly of himself. As simple as LSU's offense was under Les and Cam, harris STILL couldn't pick it up. Let that soak in!

He's full of crap and now she's trying to play the victim card, which is a typical mentality for people that like when things don't go their way. In usual fashion it's always someone else's fault. Good riddance.

Problem with the offense under Les and Cam was that it wasn't simple. Spread offenses are not complex for the most part they are the same handful of plays run out of a bunch of different formations. They are based on timing and reading one or two guys. Lsu under Les and Cam were a lot of presnap reads and you had to read the entire defense.

Mett also had the luxury of having one of the greatest WR duos in the history of this school to throw to.

You are just as bad as you say BH is. Sucks that grown 40 year old men/women get off on getting in the mud and/or bashing someone who chose to play for the school you are supposedly a fan of. As for the offense, far from simple.

Formation may have been basic, but not simple on top of no creativity, lack of options on routes, and no flow to play calling.

I am not willing to trash another player just to make a case for a guy on the team I want to start. I may mention reasons why I believe what I believe and will always be able to back it up, but will never threaten or personally attack a kid who pledged to the team I support. Sht is really old and we should be focusing on the good right now.

Some people just can't have a complete day without bitching about something that they don't have the power to change or just complain for no reason. We have some of the best players in the country. Let the rest of the concerns take care of themselves on the field.

I have excepted that Etling will probably start. He isn't my first choice but I will root for him to succeed when/if he lines up in purple and gold.

When you wait until 3rd and 8 to throw, and you mostly send out two receivers in the route, it's kind of hard to execute when the defense is sitting on the sticks.

LSU ran 3 wr sets. And even when they didn't he still couldn't hit either te or RB in the middle of the field.

Seriously, go watch the games. LSU had a chance to go up on bama, a perfect play call with Harris rolling out and his te wide open. He throws high and it turns into basically a pick six, game over.

Against arky, the first 20 plays were out of the shotgun. You didn't see the I until the red zone and LF scored from it.
