This thread took off. OP took offense to something that, IMO, wasnt meant as offensive and it snowballed from there.

And T, calm down

It's taken off pretty well, but nothing like a certain request for help on a PowerPoint project.

Yeah I don't think anybody in this thread agrees with "T" to the level he is taking things.

Damn, what a fricked up thread. Hey, cfalco, I bet the entire A&M campus would welcome you better that the dickheads in this thread.

You'll find PLENTY of respect for our servicemen in College Station. I wouldn't worry about it.

There's nothing wrong with a man saying what his profession is in his introduction. Good gosh some of yall need to get over yourselves, not the OP.

He could also be saying it to maybe help the stranger feel more secure about the whole thing..

There's andolutely nothing wrong with someone serving to let it be known. Quit acting like a bunch a tools.

And this one:

You're supposed to assume he's not a douchebag because he's active military.

Exactly navy.

It helps let the strangers know it is a couple with actual respect. That they will be joined by someone with class

Know the feeling ... I lived in Joplin, MO, for 2 years surrounded by Sooners and Hogs.

Sometimes it is fun to be an LSU fan ... where there aren't many. Fun so long as you don't get skullfricked by Arkansas.... or get punked by Clemson the very month you move to SoCar.

This is unfortunate but it will still end up in a good outcome.

The person who told him he didn't need to include he is active military can screw off. You're no better trying to tell people what they should or should not do. You are the judgemental ahole assuming he was saying it for the wrong. He clearly just wanted people to have an idea of the type of person he is.. One standing for class. Learn some before you assume and judge another's motives.. He's earned the right to state his profession that he's clearly proud of.

Seriously this thread is ridiculous lol and I won't let up.

Go back and read the OPs original post and you can clearly see his enthusiasm and kind friendly nature. And yall try to assume and control what he should do. You have no class getting into it with this man who simply said he was an LSU alum currently in the military and looking for some fellow folks to hang out with and pass a nice time. He's clearly not a douche looking for whatever it is you assume

I was in Taji in '08.

I remember reading the play-by-play on the crappiest internet ever on Yahoo! when LSU played Troy. That was about the hardest thing I've endured in regards to being a LSU fan...

Glad you made it back safely!

As did I...but I think what many are pointing out is that simply by being an active duty member of the US armed forces does not, in any way, make one not an a-hole. This goes for any number of service professions that traditionally assume blanket respect from the general public. Would someone automatically assume someone who introduces themselves as a police officer is automatically a better person than someone who is not?

Truth is, the OP may be a prince among men. Honestly. But I found it odd that that was included in the request for essentially the same reason as others. Now...if the OP added that because he hoped to potentially tailgate with other AD members, then fine...seems a way to get together with others and as you've seen many have come to his defense.

LSU fans are always cordial when tailgating...I've ever seen a request go unanswered. He'd have certainly found many options even if he had not included that.

All that being said, hope OP has a great time and helps bring back the win for The Tigers.
