My earlier thread suggesting that if we are not going to hold college athletes accountable for following the rules and honoring their obligations, we should abandon efforts to excel, and instead award participation trophies was apparently offensive and was whacked. If anyone was offended by my suggestions, it is regrettable. It’s equally regrettable that we’re teaching college and high school age kids that if things don’t go their way, it’s perfectly ok to quit.

So you make a thread about a thread you made that was whacked.

No. I made this thread to express my regret at offending anyone. I’m being socially responsible

Admin is so liberal it’s insane. They cry and complain about most things, don’t take it personally.

It's really more a question of WHO makes the rules and how do these "rulemakers" profit off of these players on whom they impose the rules.

Shouldn't the players have more of a say on the rules that are imposed on them? After all, they are the ones making the $$$,$$$,$$$'s that the rulemakers like to spread around among themselves.

I actually like the concept, and agree the spoiled athlete is part of the whole everyone deserves it just because, that is taking over society not just college sports.
