I agree with this...

However... He put together A very fine team that year.... Gotta give him credit for that..

Now if you want to give him zero credit for the 2007 title because it was Saban's players then That's cool with me... But he still had to coach what was there and still added players to THAT team.........

So you're saying Miles could have come into BR after Dinardo and won an NC on his own accord? Is that what you're saying?

There's no way we will ever know, but he still had to coach the team. I just don't think it's accurate to give the previous coach credit for championship 3 years after he leaves. There were plenty of Miles' guys on that team and he had to make a lot of tough coaching decisions to win some of those games.

To say that winning the first NC in the modern era and building a championship culture 4 (short) years before had no effect on Saban's predecessor (whoever he was) is simply absurd. Tell it to the trees.

I will say this... I don't think Miles could have rebuilt the way Saban did... He's just a different kind of guy... Saban came at the RIGHT TIME and did his thing.. And he PUT LSU on the MAP per say more than they have been in years.... However, Not sure how Saban would have handled the 1st few weeks of the 2005 season.....

I can agree that he probably wouldn't have rebuilt as well, but that's WAY different than giving all the credit for a championship to Saban 3 years after he left. I don't think it's fair to fault Miles for stepping into a good situation.

Now, if he had won the championship that first year in '05, we're having a different discussion who deserves the most credit.

Well I give Miles ALL the credit for the 2007 NC... He deserves it... You are given what you have and do what you can with it... NOW Did Miles LOSE his aggressive attitude after the 2011 season?? I say YES... He WAS called the madhatter for A reason.. After 1/9/12 I have NOT heard him called that again... Not sure what happened....

Only a college football retard would give any more than minimal credit to a coach gone in December, 04 for a NC won in January, 08.

We accepted mediocrity when we hired O. The only thing yet to be decided is if O will slide LSU all the way to bad before he gets kicked.

Stop buying tix? That’s exactly what I’m doing this year by giving my tix up. OP doesn’t
Want to give his up.

So did everyone else in the SEC... Yet the O haters won't bring that up... BTW its easy to say after the season... Was its O's fault teams fired their coaches???? Did we lose to one of those teams??? NO... Was it O's fault that the teams we faced had shitty teams???? NO...... The loss to Troy was unexcusable.. But losing to MSU happens.. Just Like Bama losing to Ole Miss.... Nobody brings that up.... We lost to Bama.. So does everybody else... And yes we had the bowl game won if O had the balls to go for it by sing his best player.. However.. we HAD the lead until Arandas defense gave up 80 yards like butter... But I still blame O.... I agree we should not have fired A coach to only get the same results but lets see what happens.... I still believe we go 6-6 next year, and O was the wrong hire... But I will give him credit for something Miles had trouble doing... He [O] responded better than Miles did the last few years after getting beat by Bama... Yes we lost to Bama the lst coule years BUT we rebounded very strong the rest of the way under O than we had been under Miles....

What a rambling incoherent mess.

Feels like I’m staring into a bowl of alphabet soup.

I understand what you are saying and I agree... However the O bashers and spoiled rotten fans are doing whatever they can to use the AFTER schedule to cut him down.... To be fair the 2011 schedule ended up be weaker than it was during the season....

Just look at where some of those teams finished compared to when we played them...

Are you really this stupid ?

Oregon and West Virginia were CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS you maroon. LSU also beat bama , in Tuscaloosa , and beat the ever living shite out of a top 5 Arkansas team.

You remember wrong. I was an avid Miles detractor since 1/9.

I had some optimism before the season some years, but I never gave him a pass for 8-4 seasons.

that isn't the problem. its great to be passionate and want to win every game and compete for championships. everyone hates losing and no one wants to be a mediocre team. the problem is the fans that talk trash and blame one player or coach or referee for all of our losses. those people aren't real fans. those "fans" don't actually watch the games and support the team. they give up on them after just 1 or 2 losses and find one person to blame for the loss. its a team sport. anhyway, NO ONE is accepting mediocrity. All we're doing is still being die hard LSU fans and rooting on our team no matter what our record says. that's just what a real fan is so if you want to get mad about that, then just don't watch them :)
