Like his first strikeout a few innings earlier in the game, that's a big moment and a baseball Nola will want to have framed and displayed on his mantle for all his friends and family to observe. The only problem is he'll first have to acquire the baseball, which is currently being held for ransom by his new major league teammates.

Obviously it's all in fun. But Nola should turn the table and say, "frick it. I don't care." I plan on doing a lot more important things than getting a single in a game in July.

A bit arrogant? Probably. But if I was a teammate I'd like the confidence

was he batting in the minors? Looks to have a decent swing for a pitcher that never hit on the college level.

The only league in pros or college in which pitchers actually bat is the National League

FIFY. Imagine that, the National League makes everybody still play offense and defense.

Ridiculous.

Having the pitcher bat adds value and strategy to the game.

Unlike the american league where you can DH some roid head that sucks so bad at defense he can't get on the field in RF or at 1st base.

He hit when he was in AA. Some minor league NL affiliates have their pitcher bat.
