Pitched against the Cubs. Went 7 2/3. Gave up four runs, but the last two was in the 8th on a two run shot with game way out of reach. He also had a RBI single.

He seems to be a pretty good hitter. Maybe we should have given him some at bats during his time here

Great hitter in high school

6.5 innings. That's above his average while he was at LSU. Nice.

In the interview of him after the game, he said Coach Mainieri was in attendance today.
Good timing on his callup...Phillies 8-1 since break, in the dugout for Hamels' no-hitter, and his first win (at Wrigley Field).

Went to Cubs game on Friday, so missed the no-hitter on Saturday and the Nola win on Sunday- talk about bad timing.

Solid performance. He belongs.

I have watched both of his games so far and I must say, he does a great job of keeping the baseball low in the zone. He has given up 3 homers in his two starts but two of three were on good pitches. Sometimes the batter just puts a better swing on a ball, even if it's a great pitch.
He belongs.
His two seam fastball looks to have even more tail then it did a year ago and even the announcers cant figure out if his breaking ball is a curve ball or a slider. It has curveball break with slider speed. It's very difficult for batters to pick up and it's been a great pitch in all counts.
I'm going to continue to watch his games and I look forward to his continued success.

Why?
Everyone knows all the players hate him.

I hated that it had to come against my cubbies but I have to admit I was rooting for him to do well, I was hoping for a 2-1 squeeker, instead even Nola is ripping up Cubs pitching en route to a Phillies 3 game sweep..... I wish him nothing but the best and to continue to represent our tigers so well as he does.

RE his hitting. Well, Javi was the hitting coach & he got no at bats at all. Is it a coincidence that he's hitting now with a new hitting coach??
