He's stated before that he thought she'd be interested in Florida when Walton retires even though he's only 3-4 years older than her.

The Florida coach will retire around the same time as Beth, Beth loves being the head coach at LSU, she loves what she does, andshe is taking this program to a new level, its nice to have her players, she is recruiting top notch athletes and they have a bat and they are developed very well. This class coming in will be a huge impact for us next year. Walljasper is an elite pitcher and Emily Griggs is without doubt a huge upgrade over Blades. She will definitely hit .300 + t

Why ridiculous odds? I thought they held their own all weekend. They just ran out of gas

On the road against one of softball's most storied programs, facing the nation's leading hitting team and home run machine with two freshmen pitchers. I don't know how many more odds could have been stacked against them. Yes they did hold their own and finally ran out of gas. What an effort it was!

I see that Walljasper is no slouch at bat either, 357. Possible there'll be another good at bat that will be filled by her.

I really enjoyed watching these young ladies compete in a regional . I am planning on attending some softball games next season.

These ladies are going to the WCWS next year. I like coach Torina and I believe LSU is going to become a force in Women's softball.

Congratulations to those Ladies for giving everything they had this season.

The team played great, so much emotion I saw in those last few games, lots to look forward to next year and beyond! I think Jaquish will be the best player in the history of LSU softball when she is finished- girl has unreal talent, and she is a hottie too! By the way, does anyone know what Czechner did to miss the trip to Zona?

She violated a team rule. Does it really matter?

Just to give some perspective, my daughter plays 12U travel ball, and we were in Lafayette this past weekend. The team played 5 games and then we went to eat at Walkons around 8:30. LSU vs. BU came on and ALL the girls were eyes on that game. They were exhausted but didn't want to leave because the LSU Girls were playing. We took them to a game earlier in the season and they know all the players by name and position. We had to play at 8AM the next morning so we had to leave during the game. We got back to our hotel and my 11 yr old said "Dad you take a shower first so I don't miss much of the game". In the shower she started knocking on the door to tell me the girls won. She was so excited. My daughter enjoys the LSU Softball games so much she is willing to sacrifice sleep.

CSB....and not in the sarcastic way

LSU does a good job of marketing to the young girls who play on softball teams. I always see teams in their uniforms at Tiger Park and they all seem to love getting autographs on the berm after the game. It is an awesome way to build a fanbase that will be around for years to come.

And 5 games in a day???

Agreed Beth and the players make the kids a Huge part of every game we have been too. I played baseball but was blessed with only daughters. My youngest is big time into softball and now I prefer the pace of softball over baseball. I find it a much more enjoyable experience.

357- what do you think the infield will look like next season? I think we are loaded across the board and thinking Quinn and BB in the middle or one of them at 3rd. What's our options after Simmons? Walljasper when she isn't in the circle?

I would venture a guess that Kreamer or Smith will be at 3rd. Same catcher rotation. What do me mean after Simmons? She isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Simmons is a JR- 1B
Quinn SO-2B
Bell JR-SS
3B will be between freshman Sydney Bourg, she generally would play in the middle of the infield, her bat really will test Hailey Smith who will be a Junior. I think Beth will end up going with Bourg if her bat transitions like we expect, you can expect her to hit .280-.330 range with about 4-5 homers, could be more look at Jaquish from HS, Bourg hits the gaps well and has speed,

Everything looks bright for our lady softballers next year as they appear to have turned the corner:

-gaining a greater fan base
-gaining interest from other sport fans incl baseball
-eliminating almost all negative women sport posts
-gaining more respect from other prominent teams
-recruiting and playing like a future powerhouse

Thanks for a great season young ladies and sleep tight knowing you all played your hearts out, and have plenty to be proud of after representing LSU in great fashion.

Next years team I think could be one of the best in LSU history if the pitching is solid and consistent!!
