If you bleed purple and gold you have to be bursting with pride at what this young team accomplished this weekend. They took one of college softball's storied programs to the limit on their home field and just refused to go away. Down to their last strike last night they still managed to stay alive, albeit for a half inning.

Two young pitchers grew up this weekend. Unfortunately their senior ""leader" didn't lead. But they will be better for the experience.

The headlong dives in foul territory by Jacee Blades and Bianka Bell epitomized the heart this team played with. No, it was not in front of 92,000 in Tiger Stadium, but a national TV audience saw the true meaning of amateur athletics and leaving it all out on the field. This program is very close to joining the nation's elite.

I couldn't agree with you more. In the heat of the battle, they even managed to have fun, especially on the over the shoulder catch made by Wray when Bell went headfirst into the dirt.

Not only did they battle without Czechner, they battled against a postage stamp strike zone for our staff.

Very proud of the effort put forth this weekend by the Lady Tigers.

They could have packed it in when they fell behind Boston U, but they persevered and played Arizona almost out of their cleats.

Coach Torina did an exemplary job of keeping her team together in the wake of the suspension and I look for great from Coach Beth Torina's clubs in the future.

Bravo Lady Tigers.

I have been a LSU softball fan since day 1 (1997) and this might have been the team that was the most fun to watch. The offense was great, the pitching was young but they battled, and the kids just looked like they were always having fun. I hope what they did this weekend brought some new fans into the fold. Our coach is a real jewel and her staff is awesome. They represented LSU with class until the very last pitch this weekend.

I only watched two games this year and those two came yesterday. I was very impressed with the team and it was really entertaining to watch. It was alot like college baseball used to be before the bat change, minus the running swing things. I will certainly watch more next season.

great job of coaching and playing, fun team to watch and the future is very bright...also like the staff's guts to suspend a key senior player for violation of rules before NCAA's...and the team played through it!
