Their point that their D is used to the spread is funny to me because they don’t defend it well.

They were 110th in the country is pass D last year.

Ive been on their board for a couple of weeks. They are insufferable. The most arrogant I’ve seen, and that’s saying something, considering UCF’S delusional fan base.

This victory will be sweet.

What they meant to state, 'we were built to outscore teams like this...'

I’ve seen some pretty ridiculous takes from Tiger fans on here as well.

LSU wins this game with defense.

1. That was last year’s team.

2. There are more ways to let off the gas pedal than just taking starters out. After we went up big against LA Tech we just completely stopped trying to score. Was it a mistake? Yea. Did we make some mistakes that compounded that mistake? Yea. But that score was far from representing the gap between those two teams. Once they got close and we started dialing up some plays to score we scored easily.

Miami was the same last year. LSU is overrated. That douche on CBS said we’d lose 42-16ish. They never learn.

We do acknowledge that another team has strengths. They refuse to.

Well..my whole life it seems we have been one dimensional with little hope of going down a different road if the opponents game plan stops our strength....now it seems we are an 8 headed hydra and if you cut one head off the others are still there to destroy you....
So what if their kids have defended the spread since they were 14....we have the a whole host of weapons on the in our quiver that they haven't seen as much, or in a quality way.
Good luck Horns. You will have a very long night.

I feel like this may be getting overlooked. A lot of focus on our offensive changes but the defense looked great. It’s really easy to give up at least a couple big plays against that type of offense. Defense was both aggressive and disciplined pretty much all night. Stopped the dive up the middle and flew around to cover outside runs. I can’t wait to see our rush guys get to passing downs and be able to just go after the qb.

Texas fans have seen so many horrible teams in Austin the last few years they’re desperate for a contender. They are a good team but by no means are they “back” right now. I enjoyed watching them during the strong years as they were hapless.

Another talking point I've seen alot is that they have a good track record against the SEC. Even The Advocate claims Texas is 191-91-9 against the SEC. No fricking way they played that many games against teams that were SEC when the game was played. Would love to see their record without all the wins against A&M, Arkansas, and Mizzou.

UT and LSU both looked prepared, ready and well coached and both played well. That said, UT's defense is still a big 12 defense. La Tech was finding alot of space to work in, which is normal in a big 12 game. Not so much in the SEC. DBU will show up and at least one of those little sideline out throws will go for a pick 6.

If you're comparing last years stats to this years teams, here's some stats for you. LaTech 417 total yds 330 passing 21pts vs LSU in 2018 week 4 LaTech 413 total yds 340 passing 14pts vs Texas in week 1 Texas led 38-0 going into the 4th quarter before putting in its second team players. Texas wins 45-14 LSU led 24-14 going into the 4th quarter while keeping in it's starters. LSU wins 38-21.

Nice try, Hittman. However, this year’s LSU offense is twice as dangerous as last year’s version. A complete overhaul schematically. And just like your Texas players, our players mostly came from spread offenses in high school, so this offense fits them better than our past offense did.

And, some can argue that our defense is even better even after the departure of Devin White and Greedy Williams.

I look at Texas’s team, and I don’t see any noticeable schematic changes, just a bit more experience.

All in all, it should be a great game, certainly the best matchup of week 2.

Texas has allowed 40+ points twice against the spread in Herman's tenure (OU and WVU last season). I would't call that routine.
