Split with (13-5) A&M - OK
Split with (13-5) UK - OK
Split with (9-8) Arkansas - OK
Split with (8-9) UF - OK
Loss to (10-7) S. Carolina on road - OK
Loss to (8-9) Alabama at home - bad
Loss to (6-12) Tennessee - bad

Difference in 13-5 (and a share of the SEC champ) and 11-7 was two bad losses.

Two stinkin' losses. It's the little things that matter, and this coach and team don't take care of them.

What about college of Charleston, Wake Forest, NC State, Marquette?

and the coach will be back next season, shows how little anyone in a position to make changes cares about the basketball program.

Missing two starters for all but one of those. And I was only looking at the SEC because a share of the SEC regular season would have guaranteed a ticket to the big dance no matter what happened in non-conference.

Non conference is the reason we won't go to the tournament.

Or they could have gone 13-5 in the SEC like they were capable of and qualified that way.

This is the weakest the SEC has been at the top in several years and the NCAA tourney results will prove that.

I'm not even mad about this game. Cal has lost 4 times in 125 games at Rupp, they've been playing great the last few weeks, and we're missing Hornsby. It was always going to be damn near impossible to win. I'm mad about the fact we had to win this game to guarantee a NCAAT spot. It's fricking pitiful. All we had to do was beat three garbage teams and we'd be in with a share of the conference championship. But nope, we fell apart. I'm glad Ben is leaving. Such a disappointment.

This team lacked a quality point guard and depth behind Simmons and Victor down low. Simmons can only do so much down low when Victor is in foul trouble and Ben is not really a great low post defender. He's very soft and timid probably because of the aforementioned depth.

Add a terrible offensive design and piss poor in game management by the coach and you have the product we see on the court.

They are hands down the worst fundamental defensive team I've ever seen. Jones literally has ZERO clue how to teach defense at this level. After 4 years of poor defensive fundamentals, there is simply no other conclusion to be reached.

Ding ding ding. This right here. We need a player like Ulis. A classic floor general that can run an offense and be a leader. We don't have that. Thought Tim could do it but he decided to play like a butthurt bitch all season and put himself above the team time after time.

That's like blaming the collapse of your offense on a tight end and fullback being injured.

I didn't mean to say Ben has been a disappointment. The season has been a disappointment. Ben has been great. He's the only reason we don't have a losing record. Does he disappear at times? Yes. Does he try to do too much? Sure. He's not the reason we've lost a single game though.

Non conference performance gets a grade of an F
Conference performance gets a grade of a C.
Overall it's a D.
No reason we shouldn't have at least gotten a share of the title. We were sitting pretty at 8-2 and finished 11-7. That's horrible considering the team didn't even show up down the stretch. What a joke of a season we had.

missing 2 out of 5 is much worse than missing 2 out of 22 that are Only in the game about 30 percent of total plays

If we can't beat those teams without a full roster it's pathetic

It is pathetic that there are only 6 solid sec caliber players on the roster. That is why not having 2 of your top 3 or 4 players made a huge difference. But better coaching and execution would have overcome that against the average teams.

This will be your typical season as long as JJ is here. I will be willing to listen if anyone one can tell me what about his experience or accomplishments would lead you to believe otherwise. I will fix a martini and listen.
