A little sense of reason

It's crazy how the opinions of Les have changed so many times over the years. Over the last 3 or so years when so many people were wanting Les gone, I was always the guy standing by him. Like many here, my stance understandably changed after the Ole Miss game. For the first time, IMO, the cons finally began to outweigh the pros beginning last Saturday. I still stand by that after this game, even though we won and Les was retained, because the same issues were there tonight:
1. Early drive killing penalties: enough said.
2. Terrible QB play: I believe tonight was one of the worst performances by an LSU QB under Miles' tenure. Over the last few weeks I have been backing Harris due to lack of protection, but tonight was just awful. He had plenty of time and just missed all the throws. He also didn't see open receivers and made some poor decisions on read options.
3. Lack of adjustments: Obviously tonight wasn't Harris' night so adjust the play calls. Throw passes that can build his confidence like RB swings (Fournette and Guice were both jacked up tonight), screens (before it's 3rd and long), TE passes over the middle, etc. Hell, I wouldn't have minded seeing Jennings get a shot to open the second half after that abysmal 1st half performance.
Like someone stated in another thread, it comes down to emotion vs reason; the emotions won tonight when Les was retained. I love Les and what he has done for this program. I always will have a place in my heart for him, but I was ready for his tenure to end tonight. All great things must come to an end, and I think that time is now.
That being said, I can let my emotions carry me for one more year and hope and pray that he makes some changes for next year. I am skeptical, but I'll be cheering just as hard as ever for the Tigers and for Les Miles next year.
P.S. Les deserved every bit of ovation that he received tonight. Everyone thought this was his last game and cheered everything that he has accomplished for this program. I couldn't make the game because I'm on a hunting trip, but I most certainly would've applauded that man had I been there.

Based on Miles responses at the post game Q&A I wouldn't expect much change. Les doesn't think there is anything wrong with his offense.
Once a team takes away our running game we get dominated. Bama did it, then Arkansas followed suit, and OM finished us off.
I'll pull for LSU as always but I'll expect similar results next year.

That's understandable, and I expect similar results as well, but I can understand giving him one more shot to show improvement.

He's had more than one shot...

The questioned spoke about MAJOR overhaul. He did not say nothing needs to change. You really want to go to a 5 wide spread with Harris under center? That would be major.

I agree he alluded to "changes" but actions speak louder than words. Based on his actions in the past it sure doesn't seem to me he is capable of change.
Our offense is utterly predictable and our QB development is weak at best.

Agreed but let's keep it real.

Is it sad that I'm kinda happy that, even in the slightest of manners, he actually admitted that Harris was nothing but inaccurate tonight? He normally would brush it off and find excuses, but tonight he seemed to put some blame on Harris. Maybe he is changing??
