Stallings has one of the best changeups on the team and has used it all season long to get strike 3. It's probably filthier than his fastball.

CPM on Stallings in this morning's Advocate:
Stallings most recently blew a save Thursday against Texas A&M. He blew saves against Ole Miss, Kentucky and Alabama as well. Two of those three ended in losses.

“He just has to be a little bit more fine with where he puts those pitches,” Mainieri said. “It’s no secret he doesn’t have the best secondary pitches."

Not sure why he didn't try a change-up or two last night as the Aggie hitters were locked in on his fast-ball.

He doesnt call the pitches. If you mean why didnt PM or Dunn call for a changeup then i'm right there with you.

The LSU pitchers are aloud to shake off signs. If they do then they had better make a good pitch.

Allowed. I had to do it, sorry.

Stallings needs to learn to keep his fastball down in the zone. When he does it's very tough to hit him as it creates a decent amount of movement for a 4-seamer because of the angle he throws from. Lately he's been elevating his 4-seamer which flattens it out and the batters have been teeing off on him.

He needs to learn that a 90-92 MPH fastball at the knees with some movement is much more effective than a 94-96 MPH fastball at the belt and flat.

How about we don't have just one guy designated as a "closer".

We can't do that, all major league baseball teams have designated closers.....
