He's got a great angle on his fastball when he keeps it down. For the last five weeks or so he's leaving them up and getting killed. He's got nothing else. If he can't keep his fastball down I can't believe CPM will keep him closing.

I say go to Newman and Person.

One bad pitch, it happens.

Not sure what Andrew was doing out there, he should have been able to judge that one better

Other than that, he will be fine. No worries

Probably see him in game three

Yeah I think it's about time to ditch the Stallings as closer plan

He stopped short to play it off the wall. Took a bounce he didn't expect and it bounced over him. Bad luck

Yep, been saying it, its fun to see him get into it, and he's got the mentality, but something just isnt clicking right now with him

I think stallings will eventually be a dominant pitcher at lsu but he has got to either really focus on fastball command or develop a off speed pitch. It's hard to just hope to blow it by every single batter

one? Did u watch the game? He was serving shite up dead middle. Nothing against the kid, but he didn't have it tonight

Andrew was thinking, "this shite gotta chance". You can't think he misjudged that? Lol. He shoulda pulled up on it 10 yards sooner. Woulda turned a 3b into a 2b

Actually he has an incredible change up. PM and Dunn called fastball on every single pitch.

If you think Stallings only has a fastball then honestly you don't really follow the team.

Stallings has lost control of his fastball but luckily he is only a freshman. Three more years to get his location up to par. (Up to par for an LSU closer)

Bugg should have closed it out. He had all 3 pitches going. I still think CPM pulls them too soon. Why not let Poche' come in for at least 1 batter? His pich count was pretty low. Same with Bugg, let him throw till he messes up.

I think its closer by committee the rest of the way.

Don't know why we didn't go to Newman in the 8th.

Not the first 9th inning lead off triple he's allowed.

I agree...I would have liked to see Poche come out to start the 8th inning with someone ready in the pen if he got in trouble. But once Bugg pitched the 8th, I would have stuck with him in the 9th.

That's irrelevant. That single still scores the runner even if he was held to a double. Stallings hasn't looked good lately. He only has one out pitch and it's a fastball.

He's a freshman and is learning. He will be good after some development.
