So just because UGA were a bunch of collective dumbasses we should just follow their lead

We have fished in the top 15 2 of the last 3 years with a real chance to make it 3 of 4 this year. Stop acting Ike we are headed down a road of distruction. Good god I hate our entitled fans. These poster on here saying we shouldn't accept a top 15 finish and yet they don't sacrifice anything to make our program better. Our fan base is clearly becoming Bama's fan base.

You're not being honest if you think the west is as bad as the east. The east champ had problems with Vandy and Florida Atlantic

Arkansas and Auburn have been terrible. Ole Miss and State are okay. Both are going to get their shite pushed in coming bowl time.

Alabama lost 90% of their offense from last season and we still couldn't beat them.

A&M. I should just stop there.

The West may be better than the East but not by much.

The difference in the two isn't that LSU was unwilling to fire Les. It's the asinine way the administration handled and allowed the media to drive a decision. If LSU's admin would have kept their mouths shut, they could have let Miles go today and it is a non-issue. The media doesn't have an opportunity to make a story and throw their opinions on why LSU should keep Les

Why do you think LSU rivals support keeping this idiot coach? Almost a guaranteed win especially Alabama or Arkansas and soon to be UF and trending OM. They also see him like Whimp Sanderson saw Dale Brown. With all that talent I was worried then realized who is the coach. Mediocrity has settled in @ LSU. LSU is and will continue to be owned by Alabama as long as miles is at LSU.If Dabo replaced Saban, he would own his arse. No one in college football wants this coach except the passive settle for fans at LSU. Wallow in your medoricity with this idiot coach.
Africkingmen to this!

Richt made that program into a football powerhouse and people seem to forget that.

They've finished the year unranked 4 out of the last 7 years.

Miles has finished the year unranked twice at LSU.

They are not comparable.

Will ESPN talk about how ridiculous UGA is to fire someone with his record.

so wait you're telling the fans that a "top 15" finish 50-67% of the time is our expectations as a program?

The cover story said

Richt won a lot of games, just not the right ones

What a fricking joke.

They've been dealing with that mediocrity for quite a while. They are way over due if consider that a "bold" move.

True, they gave the guy a chance after having a similar situation a couple of years back. He couldn't get it done. Maybe Miles will respond better than Richt.

This should give us a good look into what would have happened had LSU fired Miles. As far as football goes, UGA and LSU are a lot alike in many ways. Thier list of candidates will likely be the same as would have been available to LSU. One way or the other, in 2-3 years we are going to be saying "look at what happened at UGA"

Not really. The media understands the difference between Miles and Richt, even LSU fans don't.

This. Do people realize we beat the champs of the EAST in a game we controlled for the most part? I'm no pumper and have been sick about our product on the field. Obviously Jimbo wasn't coming and we got the best guy available for the program at this time. His management of the staff this year will be critical for his future. Keep O, Wilson , Raymond, make good decisions for your coordinator positions and go to work!!

Different situations. If Les hadn't been to 2 NC's and won one, then you could compare the two.

so we should make decisions affecting the future of the program based on the past and not the present/future?

That and the media didn't report his firing from inside sources prior to the final game.

Are you saying top 15 finishes are beneath lsu as a program?
We have about 20 of them in our entire history so stop acting like top 15 finishes aren't great seasons.

And if Miles had had 3 unranked finishes and a losing season during the last 6 years.
