You haven't done anything because the big 12 has the worst d of anyone plus the only team you play is ut and ou. come play bama, auburn, florida, arkansas, and even ole miss every year that will shut you up.

I know what he's referring to. It's the NCAA SOS list, but that only looks at W-Ls of opposing teams. It doesn't include the strength of those teams.

But all 3 links you listed have A&M with a harder SOS than LSU and they DO include the strength of teams.

I think one of the BCS computers (Massey's?) has A&M with the #1 SOS.

[quote]We really played only one real rushing team - Nebraska, but we did hold them to 100 yards under their average. On the flip side, we played 4 of the top 10 passing offenses, so it follows that our passing D stats will be a little dismal.

what the frick does this even mean?

We are 3 points per game better than you. We are about 50 yards per game better than you.

Seriously, this statement is retarded. Texas A&M's defense is not even close to LSU's.

I'm going to need some help with this one.

Context, friend. Sherman called an extremely conservative game that day as did Pelini. Nebraska never scored a TD either, not because they couldn't, but because they were playing so conservatively as well. Sherman wasn't playing to score that day, he was playing to win - usually those goals are met by the same calls, but sometimes they are not. Given the fact that Les is so aggressive, I doubt he'll call so conservatively for the Cotton Bowl but who knows.

If you apply that same context to LSU, you'll see that LSU had a very vanilla offense all year to allow the defense to win games. Context, friend.

A&M Defense:
5.9 yards allowed pass attempt (#10)
40.9 pass attempts faced per game

3.3 yards allowed per rush attempt (#12)
35.5 rush attempts faced per game

LSU Defense:
6.5 yards allowed per pass attempt (#35)
25.7 pass attempts faced per game

3.63 yards allowed per rush attempt (#32)
37.4 rush attempts face per game

We allow fewer yards per rush or pass attempt than you do...we just face more attempts which leads to more yards allowed in total. Big 12 offenses take more snaps per game than SEC offenses - OU, A&M, and Tex Tech are #1 and #3, #3 (tied) in most number of snaps, respectively.

I think you guys will be surprised what picking up the pace of the game will do to the defense.

Because your defense can't get off the field, genius. Facing fewer offensive plays is a sign of a good defense.

Its like you don't even watch football, I swear.

We face more snaps as a defense and we also have more offensiev plays per game in general. The Big 12 is just a faster pace than the SEC.

ONE of them listed A&M above LSU. The other two, including Sagarin (you know, the one people pay attention to) had LSU in front.

You guys better hope we have some turnovers.

You guys will be facing the fastest defense you've seen all year and the best special teams. It ain't all about the offense ags. And btw the Tigers have a first-team all SEC running back to go with that. If the Tigers actually get steady QB play to show up the score will not be that close. Inconsistant QB play from LSU is the only hope aTm has of winning this game. Of course I'll be the first to admit that gives you a fighting chance.
To put it simply:
UF, 'Bama, Ole Miss style QB play beats the Aggies.
Au, Arky, Style QB play gives the Aggies a win.

What the hell does this even mean, it really means yall just chunk it around alot.

You all are not faster paced, it is not like Tubs or Mack or others have become Oregon. Christ.

You all are going to get shellacked. Shellacked by a better team, with a better D than you have seen.

Unless Tannehill turns into a better than average QB, yall are going to have a hard time.

I predict a UNC type performance.

Yalls little RB hitting a seam is all that worries this Tiger fan. Other than that.............nuttin.

this, of course, is an assumption with no actual backing of any sort.

Do you aggies speak English at all, really? Some of those immigrants around college station that are doing the 'scaping do a better job at speaking it.

That is a complete cliche and not at all true. We have teams like Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Florida running spreads that hurry up the pace. Even LSU runs a little hurry up.

Also, I would contend that 7 extra plays per game does not explain away the disparity in defensive rankings.

Again....LSU is #8 nationally, while Texas A&M is #51.

How many Heisman winners did aTm face this year? Yep, LSU faced 2. I don't care what you say, if Cam Newton loses, it's because of the controversy, not his play. He was clearly the best player in all of CFB this year.

yes, Sagarin has LSU in front for its overall ranking. The SOS ranking is to the right.
SAGARIN:

SCHEDL(RANK)
LSU 74.25( 23)
A&M 76.19( 12)

A&M's SOS is #12, LSU #23.

ANDERSON SPORTS:
Sched. Sched.
Strength Rank
LSU .575 12
A&M .594 4

ALSO, to all you aggies saying the LSU passing offense vs. the A&M passing defense is a "push", I say that JJ played MUCH better down the stretch. He was on fire against Bama, put up more than 250 yards against Ole Miss, and played well enough to win the game against Arkansas.

Our passing game will be fine. Keep believing that your pathetic passing defense, which ranks 8th in the Big XII and gives up 240 yards per game, will stop us. I would really like your secondary to believe we can't pass, too. Please.
