All great coaches adapt, Saban, Patterson, and I think it's time to realize that Miles probably won't.

How did Patterson's adaptation fare against Okie St. Saturday?

I'll root for them to lose, but I highly doubt they do.

I don't feel many are saying fire Miles. But if you are okay with dismissing the discussion when it's a fact that Saban now controls Miles and people like Freeze, Stoops, Malzahn have been much more competitive lately against Saban, then sure, go ahead and dismiss it.

Were not expecting a coach to beat him every season but 2 out of 4 would be nice. Saban is becoming our new Spurrier while at UF. Les is paid 4.3 million to be at best #2 in the division

I'm aware. But Bama is not losing to MSU or AU. LSU will not make the playoff. 2 SEC teams will not make it.

See my scenario above. It's a long shot, but better chances than what you postulated.

We all knew the stupids would come out after 1 loss. Don't let them get to you. But our playoff chances are pretty slim unless MSU or Auburn can pull off an impressive upset.

If there were no other fans like you who can keep their rational abilities together, it would be a very lonely experience being an LSU fan.

You realize Meyer just shafted Saban last year with his two consecutive #1 classes he got over Bama?

Clemson and Ohio state and Alabama. OK st and Baylor will both lose...likely more than once. Alabama could still lose. Jesus guys. LSU runs the table they will have a great shot at getting in. Bama still has to win at state at auburn and against Florida. Florida may lose to fl st.

I'm not sure he is #2. Last year he wasn't.

Ok.

Nick Saban - 7.0 million (8-1)
Kevin Sumlin - 5.0 million (6-3)

Les Miles - 4.3 million (7-1) should be 8
Hugh Freeze - 4.3 million (7-3)
Gus Malzahn - 4.1 million (5-4)
Dan Mullen - 4.0 million (7-2)
Bert - 3.95 million (5-4)

I see a bargain. You really make it too easy.

In the last 4+ years, there are several.

and those "several" coaches all have their demons as well

every coach has their demons, Les's just happens to be Bama

it is what it is at this point

Exactly. Miles is now 3-7 vs. Saban. One of those 3 wins came in 2007, which I think most would agree was Saban's worst Alabama team.

Freeze is 2-2 in four years. Malzahn's offenses have been nearly unstoppable against Bama ('10, '13, '14). No one is saying fire Miles, but I don't think anyone can sit here and say that Ole Miss and Auburn generally have more talent than LSU. Yet, the same tired approach from Miles' offense produces the same results. He can't sit there and look in the mirror after 5 straight losses and think what LSU is doing in those games is good enough. There in no reason why this offense can't become a little more varied and less predictable.

Like it or not, football has changed over the last 10 years. The game is more suited to benefit the offense. Even Saban realized that when he brought in Kiffin as OC. Bama is not a spread team by any means, but they will do things to move people around and create favorable matchups. LSU's offense is the same one than the Raiders were running in the 1970's

TCU doesn't have half of the talent we have and TCU hasn't gotten completely shut down by the same team 5yrs in a row

If the goal is to win championships and one team ALWAYS thwarts that goal, and if there is NO way to avoid that team, shouldn't the head coach do something about it?

It's not like expanding the playbook is going to kill this team. We don't have a very deep playbook and that's a huge problem.

miles is a good coach. when we win the last 3 games we will be 10-1. no one expected any more at the beginning of the season. harris is the future and has developed more than jj or jennings.

our problem is miles is subborn and refused to accept that straight ahead power football only works if you can OUT-TALENT the opponent. we are playing to bama's strength whereas ole miss, auburn, ohio state are forcing bama to play the whole field and move. we cannot beat them consistently with this strategy. we should be able to spread the field out more and still get LF his 25 carries. miles is too stubborn to make any substantive changes.

Ok great. Malzahn and Freeze have beaten Saban.

What are their records this year?
