Ref's were actually better in the second half.
Give SC credit, they made the plays and made there FT's.
We make our FT's different game.
And TQ and JG were really bad.

The point is that is entirely too many fouls to call in a game. That is enough for all the starters in the game to foul out and another guy.

It makes the game hard to watch, regardless of the outcome.

Right - this is not bitching about losing. everybody knows LSU deserved to lose for bricking a couple dozen free throws (including the front ends of at least three one and ones). The reality is, nobody wants to watch a bunch of guys standing around milling around the paint while one guy gets ready to shoot a free throw. It's awful TV and drags out the game unnecessarily.

I'll add one more. It makes every player on the floor play a different game than they want to. Everyone out there last night was playing not to foul. Making themselves not give 100 percent. So not only is there no flow to the game, even when they are playing it is not top level play.

Someone needs to sit these refs down and tell them nobody gives a frick about them and to choke on their whistle and a dick

very hard to watch. College refs can completely change a game, and that's one thing I really don't like about college basketball. Two cheap fouls on a star player and the game is changed.

These are big, strong athletes moving quickly in a confined space. Allow some contact and let them play.

+1. The refs were calling it like a nit-picky HS game. I would venture to say 50% of the fouls called (or MORE) were totally unnecessary. I hope someone in the SEC offices has the good judgment to review the game and see just how ridiculous this was. I guarantee none of these clowns/refs will be anywhere near the NCAAA playoffs. If they are it will be early round games. On the other side USCe was aggressive and to their credit got a LOT of questionable calls. Props to them!

TV ratings will suffer with the new rules. Rules will be changed.

Hahahaha you right man they were 1 foul better. 28 in the first half and 27 in the second.

The biggest problem with the fouls are the TV timeouts that happen after a lot of them. In many cases it is a non-shooting foul and the ball would go out of bounds but we have a TV timeout instead.

We had some intentional fouls.

I'm not sure if the refs were better though. The teams let players have easy looks rather than risk a foul near the goal

With the rules being what they are right now, any team going down the stretch that has a coach with half a brain will foul our asses into oblivion whether they're trying to protect a lead or get back into the game. It's the smart thing to do. We flat out can NOT shoot free throws.
