As per the advocate:

quote:

-FB J.C. Copeland lost 30 pounds since the BCS title game and now carries 269 pounds. He bench presses 420 and squats 510. He has broken over 30 face masks as a blocker. A converted defensive tackle, Copeland is smarter about the nuances of the position now and plays with better pad level.

This is badass. He destroys linebackers on a regular basis. I'm looking forward to watching him this year. He knows this is his year to shine if he wants to make the NFL. This will be fun to watch. 420 pound bench press!

You scared? You block with hands first, then face. He's not head butting fools looking down at the ground

I feel bad for those 210 pound OLB we face... you got 270 coming with a full head of steam.. you better have a quick side step or it's lights out

420 is good, but there are a lot of freaks out there in the 450+ range. Pretty unbelievable.

Agreed, but alot of those 450+ guys I bet aren't natty. Did the team ever release max lifts for everyone?

I don't know. Back in the late 90's, some of those D lineman were 450 or so and I doubt they juiced.

my friend just graduated from LSU, powerlifting captain.

he is 180 lbs. and benches 350-ish. no juice.

i would assume somebody nearly 100 heavier could lift 100 more lbs without juicing.

oh god. im as big of a steroid proponent as there is on the board, but to say that "alot of the 450+ guys arent natural" is silly.

i would say that the majority of the doping is by the DE, FB, LB who are fast but too light. Even then its way less than you would expect.
