2nd and 3rd place votes as well as omissions, could decide Heisman

Last really close Heisman vote was 2009 when Mark Ingram edged out Toby Gerhart by just 28 votes. Ingram had 227 1st place votes while Gerhart was close behind at 222. So only 5 of Ingram's winning margin of 28 were due to first place votes.
In fact, Ingram and Gerhart combined to receive 449 1st place votes, while six other players combined to win exactly the same amount - 449.
If the vote turns out to be as close as many expect, the decision may be left in the hands of voters who omit Nix or Daniels from their ballots. Since they are required to list their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices on their ballots (ballots are voided if 3 players are not listed), it could come down to how many omit one or the other entirely.
Three points for 1st, 2 points for 2nd, 1 point for 3rd. In a tight battle, the guy with the most first place votes could theoretically not win the Heisman, as almost happened in 2009.

A lot of the elitists in the Midwest and East coast will have the same as well due to the conference being down and SEC fatigue in general.

Harrison, Jr., will get 3rd place votes in the Midwest and Northeast. Maye will get 3rd place votes in the Mid-Atlantic region. The question will be, which of Nix, Daniels and Penix will be left off those ballots.

Anyone who votes for Drake Maye should lose their vote

He won't get any 1st place votes, even from the 145 media voters in the Mid-Atlantic (ACC) region; but 3rd pace votes are oftentimes treated as "throwaway" symbolic votes in Heisman voting. Maye and Jordan Travis were the only two guys likely to get some 3rds from that region, but with Travis' injury, Maye will be the beneficiary. Just 29 more 3rd place votes for Gerhart from the 400 or so that left him off their ballots completely would have given him the 2009 Heisman.

Anyone who doesn’t have JD & Nix on their ballot should lose their vote.

There’s a case to be made for not having Nix top 3. Strength of schedule, percentage of throws behind the line, poor performance when in the SEC.
A ballot of JD/Harrison/Penix could be defended.

Nix has 17 passes completed for +20yards
Daniels has 20 TD passes for +20 yards. Let that sink in!!

Said the exact same thing to the officer when he asked if I had any idea how fast I was going.

more than just the West coast vote the Heisman. the other Heisman winner all know who should really get it. Im hearing a lot of other media people saying it's Jayden Daniels hands down.
