At this point it’s natty or complete bust. This team has a great possibility of being the best LSU team ever. It’s just ridiculous at this point.

If we don’t make the CWS, JJ should be on the hot seat.

This team is so incredibly stacked that you are completely right

Not sure he should be on the hot seat because he built the team, but it would be incredibly disappointing.

Mehh. Sounds like a football fans mentality. Baseball is a funny sport.. not just ab stacking talent.. gotta be hot at the right time.

That said, we should be the unanimous preseason #1 and cws favorites

Yeah i mean just look at CWS champs in the Super Regional era. Only 1 #1 national seed has ever won it all.

If you look at the regular season Ole Miss and Tn. had and you would not have guessed the outcome. There are not sure champions in baseball.

However, I did predict LSU would win the Natty in 2023 before last season even started. I was basing that just off of our recruiting class and Jay Johnson. I didn't even see the humongous impact of the portal coming. No way I am backing down now.

That’s exactly what my thought is. Even before the portal stuff happened I still predicted us to at least make Omaha. Last season I expected a super but we did solid good given the circumstances

Stop. It’s baseball. So many intangibles to contend with.

Look at Tennessee last year.

Improbable events…happen

On paper its the best collection of talent.. but untl they put it all together its just that.

Hopefully this time next summer we will be able to call them the best team ever.

Couldn’t disagree more.

Complete bust seasons ended once Pulmonary hung it up.

The key is ensuring Hurd is healthy and locking down a Sunday starter. The weekend rotation is so important for obvious reasons, and it takes 4-5 starters to make a run at it. I think we have plenty of options to accomplish that though. I’m excited to see these freshman pitchers.

If Hurd is healthy he's your Friday night guy IMO. We're talking top 5 mlb draft talent.. possiblly #1 overall in '24

By all indications he will be good to go by February. They're not gonna rush him back but he's already throwing according to CJJ.

ETA- I misread your post. Yes after last season having a legit sunday starter would be nice. Luckily we have an abundance of options there

A national seed and go to a super regional should be the floor. Anything can happen in one weekend of baseball but they should go to the CWS.

To ever say national championship or bust for a baseball team is just dumb. The sport is way to unpredictable.
