dline will be essentially the same.

lbs:

I think Alexander, Riley, Voorhies will be the starters with Riley in the middle.

cbs:

Tolliver and Jackson starters. Tons of options behind them. I would guess Fulton cracks the 2 deep and Paris is 3rd corner.

Safeties:

Jefferson and Adams. Battle still 3rd guy in. Other 2 deep will be up for grabs.

Nickel:

Xavier Lewis/Saivion Smith

If we land the DL we're projected to get, our rotation on DL is gonna be nasty.

Beckwith could possibly come back.

A freshman or two will play, possibly start.

Riley will definitely be in there, Alexander will play as well

When looking at the way I picked the starters, heck I would put that second team out there as the first team and I think they could easily win 9 games, which means all that talent next year will be scary. And yes, those talented guys we are recruiting on the DL and LB all can step right in and play. The big guys like Manual, Gary, Blakelock are men now. Thorton, Fowler and Smith are all big fast and physical.

I think we get at least one to two freshman starting at LB. Likely Feist in the middle to start, just because of experience and he can call get the defensive signals in and get everyone lined up but wouldn't surprise me at all to see all freshman starting at LB by the end of the season. My guess, you would see Divinity and Fowler playing a ton from day 1.

I hate myself for it, but I hope Beckwith gets a late 2nd or 3rd round grade and comes back to improve his stock.

That said, he's going to be a late 1st or early 2nd round pick. He's gone.

That will be Miles/Steele/O's biggest 1-year recruiting challenge - keeping Beckwith is the equivalent to landing a 5-star JUCO player.

Next year's defense could resemble 2011 with the talent we will have on the line and in the secondary. Hopefully the LBs step up and some freshman come in ready to contribute.

yeah

the projections so far involve 2 guys that got destroyed by EMU, a guy that got more playing time at FB than MLB, and 2 freshmen.
