To win it all this year....we will play Bama twice.
Once in Baton Rouge......then either in the national title game or the playoff game before the national title game.

Tell you what. I would love I mean love to put a Texas sized beating on Bama. They are so overdue. I think it is lined up for us this year.

Defense wins championships Maybe this year. When u play bama u had better have it! We match up this year, if we don't quit in the last 3 or 5 minutes,I THINK WE WIN.

Exactly....I tire of us falling back on that. We beat Georgia twice in 2003 with the same narrative. They came into the rematch thinking they outplayed us in the first and we got some calls and good fortune to beat them, then we went out and beat them much worse on a neutral field with more Dawg fans in the house than Tigers. And nobody on the 2003 team was complaining before the game about having to play a team we beat again, no being the victim. Just went out and blasted 'em.

I think it would much depend on how the 1st game went - how we felt about the rematch.
LSU won that 9-6 on two incredible plays and Bama missing many field goals, you can't count on that shite.

Looking back at the past 3-5 recruiting classes and Alabama, LSU, OSU, and FSU seem to consistently put together the most talent. These should be your top 4 teams on the regular. If you notice they have all won a championship of late. It's our turn to join in..

No matter if we play Bama once or twice, all I want to hear is "LSU has NFl players all over the field, and they are exercing their Demon by dominating Alabama"!

Alabama will have conference losses to UTk and LSU.
The SEC championship game between LSU and UTk will decide which SEC team is in the playoff unless they are both undefeated going into the SEC champ game.

They figured out which one of our 3 running plays we would be calling given our tendencies lol and had 4 guys in that whole everytime. When your opponent is as predictable as a Les coached LSU team playing defense anit that hard when you have decent talent

QB play will be as good
Outside of the two title games our qb play in 2011 was pretty good.
JJ/JLee combined for 20 tds-5int.
Both with compl. % of 60 and above.
Both had qb rating of over 138.thats pretty damn good
RB- 2016 better

No way is 2016 as talented as 2011. We may never see another lsu dline corp with more talent than 2011.
LBwe dont know how good pur 2016 lb corp is. I also like Minter over Beckwith

Ron brooks, Tharold simon ,Jalen collins craig loston ,and brandon taylor were also on 2011

The most important comparison isn't LSU 2016 vs 2011. It's Bama 2016 vs 2011. And Bama 2011 >>>>>>>>>> Bama 2016.

As Tigers we all have to deal with the Ghost of Bama going into any season - it looms every year ! I am old enough to remember the 60's and the 70's - Coach Mac was good but not good enough for the Bear - now this 2011 NCG followed by
2012 L
2013 L
2014 L
2015 L
For me the 2012 last 2 minutes hurt as much as any football loss of my life. It is just a game and W/L you move on an just shake it off but every time I see the red pick-up in town with the stupid Bama A all over the back wind-shield I want to throw eggs at em.
I have the want to have this team be improved - I want to see us have a great team and season - but I would be lying if I told you the one game I have circled is the Bama game in Baton Rouge.
I do think we could have as good or better QB play this year. I agree that the biggest challenge to matching up to the 2011 team would be our DB's this year but in saying that I think we could have a top DB group in the SEC.
The next concern about this 2011 team matching up to the 2011 team is at DL but we shall see how it plays out on the field. New DC Aranda seems to have the right stuff but saying that I agree with the many in that it does come down for all of us to see CLM leaves the stupid book at home when he shows up for the Bama game. If he will allow the staff to prepare a proper game plan that attacks the weakness of the the Bama D and not attack the strength of the Bama D.
