So all those people who basically said frick Zardon for demanding a starting position will apologize right?

I think we've got 5 guys that can be starters with Valek coming in. I'd still like to see Godfrey get a lot of mid-week innings to work on his control and get his stamina up.

Paul made it pretty clear that they are going to extend pitchers outings in the fall to 2 or 3 times through the lineup to find 4 starters.

When I look at our pitching staff (assuming everyone will be healthy by spring), I feel good about a number of guys stepping up and challenging for a weekend spot with Lange and Poche, as well as midweek. Our 3rd starter has been a concern in the past, but I don't see pitching depth being an issue with this roster.

McKay
Godfrey
Latz
Bain
Valek

if we can't find 2 starters out of this group then we are in deep shite

Are we ignoring our inability to hit?

You don't know that we can't hit yet. But, yes, we are ignoring our inexperience at the plate for this discussion.

Pitching is going to have to carry this team much like it did for UCLA a couple of years ago. We could be in for a long season if hitting does not come around.

Not if you actually want to watch the games. Boring as shite.

ETA: Pitching has been lights out (starters and pen). Can't hit their way out of a wet paper bag.

Mainieri categorizes the catcher battle as a "two-horse race" between signee Romero and Papierski. #LSU

It's a done deal. Juco's have priority.

Interesting spin. But, what does that mean?
