There are lots of posts saying next year will be meh but 2015 will be great based on this recruiting class.

How much damage do you think was done to our 2015 recruiting by this loss to Bama? I mean specific guys who might be swayed, not just general statements.

(No, not interested in putting this on the Recruiting board, I want the Rant's opinions.)

Absolutely none! The players see themselves coming in and making a difference. Most see an opportunity to start early. The only ones who want be here are the ones who never intended to come. This upcoming class will be one of the best ever.

I am counting on the recruiting year of 2029-2030. My one year old son is in the 98th percentile for height and 96th percentile for weight. I watched him dominate two two year-olds yesterday that tried to take away the truck he was playing with. He is going to be a beast!!!!

the loss to bama doesn't affect anything as far as recruiting goes. Now if we drop the remaining games, that could have a huge affect.

2014 could be a rough one. The schedule lightens up a touch, but Auburn and Ole Miss are vastly improved. I can see us coming in preseason #4 in the west.

Entirely new offense, and a defense that replaces many broken parts with more inexperienced parts.

So depending on how Signing Day goes, molds the outlook for 2014-15

Probably not much. Most of these guys have been recruited for over 2 years by their final schools of interest. I can't imagine there were very many who were completely torn on where to go, and were waiting on the outcome of the Bama game to sway their decision. You have to remember, every one of these guys see themselves as future #1 NFL draft picks. I would venture to guess that the top priority for most is going to a school where they can play very early on and get out of college as fast as they can. Over the last few years, LSU has shown that if you're good enough to see the field as a true freshman, you will. With the number of skill players on offense who are expected to leave after this year, coupled with a defense that looks as if it is in need of a severe injection of talent, I would say the odds of many true freshman playing early next year is high. Thus, LSU will probably remain a desireable destination despite the fact that this season hasn't been up to recent standards.
