I thought Notre Dame was going to be a part of it but I guess they dropped out.

The entire field is from Texas this year. First time ever for that. I'm hoping for a good tournament.

I think this is the first time Rice isn't a part of it. Texas is only there in even numbered years. Still a pretty damn good field.

Trouble would be timing.
Couldn't schedule something that big in the first few weeks of the season with the usually bad weather/field conditions in mid/late February - mid March in Omaha.
And after mid-March, conference play starts.

I was there this year to watch Texas Tech. Can't wait for LSU to be in it next year. We'll bring 10-15k.
As said above, I wish Texas or Rice was in it, but UT/Tech rotate together in even years while A&M/Baylor usually rotate in odd years.
Rice apparently had a "scheduling conflict" so they'll be missing it for the first time since the tourney began in 2001.
