No, he's not good. Sorry but Stevie Wonder himself wouldn't have missed some of the throws that JJ has missed this year.

I don't understand with a numbers crunch this year why Murphy, is being told it's ok to return. If he's graduated, say thanks for your service young man and move on. It's too much of a risk to bring him back. Especially, a move to WR and bad knees.

then who?
Ferguson, Johnson (Freak) or if he's finally turned a corner - Davenport
Downs is a guy who seemed to see a lot less playing time this year than last, which isnt a good sign. Dude needs to get bigger.

Ware to FB would be such a waste. I cant see that happening.
I either Hilliard or Hill sees time next year. Both are perfect size for ST coverage. So i see one not RS'ing.
I think of following: Blue, Ware, or Hilliard could move positions.
and i cant see Freak Johnson or La'el Collins starting. Though Freak could play a lot. 3rd down passing situations
Also one of 2 of those TE's will move positions

Ware isn't going anywhere. He is versatile enough to play FB and RB. He has great hands out of the backfield also.

im not saying he will but another reason why ridley might go pro is cause he has backs behind him. thats what glenn coffee did at bama a few years ago. he knew he wouldnt get as many carries cause he had ingram and richardson behind him and his draft stock would fall. i think ford will know the playbook better and get alot of carries and one of the incoming freshmen will get the carries that ford got this year (if they dont redshirt). i love ridley as much as the next guy but in the long run for both him and the program it might be better if he goes pro this year.

The depth chart speculation is fun but im more interested in who leaves..(attrition)...this signing (2011) class is to deep not to sign a full class of 25...
Posted on 12/6/10 at 9:24 pm to GratefulTiger
My main concerns are DT and to a lesser extent LB. If someone can step up, we will be scary.

i like him at RB, but you never know.
im pretty sure he played some DEF in HS
Blue was ahead of him on the depth chart when healthy, so who knows how that will figure out next spring.

That's what he played almost all this year and he was great at being an all-purpose FB. Dont see how he brings anything more to the table at RB that Ridley and Ford dont already bring. He will be best used as that all-purpose FB.

I'm just going by position, obviously some guys wont play at their position but will play special teams. Who is anyones best guess.

Why not? Collins is the #1 OT in the nation coming out of high school and is physically ready to go and it's not like Hurst solidified himself as a starter at OT and Barksdale is gone. Collins could easily start from Day 1.
Freak is just an animal and also physically ready to go. Our DT depth looks weak to say the least so he could easily shoot up the chart there.

he maybe had a handful of snaps at FB. And when he did play, it was obvious passing situations.

OT is physically demanding. LSU has had some great OL's in the past 20 years. Ask yourself who is the last true FR to start from Day 1. Pretty rare. AS you said yourself, we have a "deep" OL.
FReak has a better shot, but like I said, he will be more of a pass rush guy. He has some work to do to be college ready, after watching his film and his past game.

Collins is the best OL prospect to come out of LA possibly ever. If he's physically ready to go as he is its literally just a matter of learning the playbook before the season starts. Texas A&M I believe started 2 freshman OTs this year and Tennessee also started 1. Sure we're deep on the OL but can you say for sure we have 2 better OTs than Collins next year? I can say Faulk possibly then...? Especially if Hurst moves down to guard which he should anyways.

Pretty sure Downs played in almost every game (think he was nicked once and may have missed a game), and was No 2 on the depth chart all year. He played a lot more than last year. Just FYI.
