Davey's 3,351 total yards in 2001 is the highest total yards in a single season in school history. Russell is tied in school history for most touchdown passes in a single season with Matt Mauck, as they both threw 28. Mauck's best season, of course, came in 2003, when he posted the third-best total yards in a season in LSU history with 2,922 total yards.
Mauck would also go on to lead the Tigers to their second national championship that year.

Those stats are all about Saban using his players at their strengths... Letting them do what they do best. Miles does not do this.......
