Its a shame that it's kind of impossible to enjoy and 8-3, SEC and Sugar Bowl Championship season anymore. It almost feels like you need a few loses to make the wins feel better.

I think many of our fans enjoy SEC Champ and Sugar Bowl. I think 1 BCS bowl either between 07 and 11 or since 11 would have gone a long way. But that hasnt happened.

Its a toss up between that one and UGA 03 for me.

Winning the SEC champ in 01 was great because the UT fans thought nothing of us.

I sat in a section with a ton of UT fans and I remember before the game all they were talking about was Miami and Rose Bowl.

Then the game started

And we won DESPITE getting Rohan knocked out, and at least 2 BLATANT late hits on him that WERE NOT CALLED.
They had no answer for Mauck's running ability.

2001 was great fun, but it didn't become really fun until after the OM embarrassment when we dropped to 4-3 and we finally let Ro and Reed do their thing. But the first half of that season was painstaking to say the least.

To me, 2007 was by far the most fun as a Tiger fan. Starting #2 with USC #1 and the NCG in NOLA put expectations on that team that we had never seen before or since, and that team showed up and was in every single game. After demolishing people early, the Florida, Kentucky, Auburn, Bama and Arky games were all absolute instant classic games that were a blast to watch.

The Arkansas game took wind out of the sails for a week, but winning the SECCG with our backup QB of the future and Pitt upsetting WVU to get us the NCG matchup with OSU in The Dome is still the happiest day as a Tiger fan I have ever had. To be in the NCG picture from week 1 until the end was pure joy.

2003 was amazing, but no one thought we were a NC contender until we beat UGA, which was amazing, but then we shite the bed against a mediocre Zook Florida team, and didn't get back into the picture until after the OM game, and even then we were on the outside looking in at #3 with USC and OU favored to win out. The BCS drama was very exciting and smashing UGA in ATL was great but even then we didn't know if it would be enough to get in. That Florida game haunted us all year and still does since it cost us the split title with USC.

2011 is the second most fun behind 2007 to me, and by far the most impressive imo. Starting ranked top 5 with a matchup against another top 5 team was awesome, and running through the competition like we did with only one win by less than 2 TDs was amazing and will likely never be surpassed imo. Watching Mathieu dominate and take the country by storm as the phenomenon of The Honey Badger is the best feeling I've had watching a Tiger player. Greater than watching K Faulk, J Reed, or Jamarcus. Pure aggression and determination. Like watching Iverson on the gridiron.

But with the media seemingly obsessed with the SEC and Bama and the idea of a Rematch, things never felt quite as good as they should have imo. I always felt the media was stuck on the QB struggles of the past few years, and even our fans couldn't enjoy the wins as they bitched and moaned about who their favorite QB was.

2000 was actually one of the most purely fun for me. Outside of the UAB game, the home game experiences were the most fun I'd ever experienced. The low expectations made the wins over Tennessee, MSU, Bama, and Kentucky all so memorable.

2006 was extremely enjoyable because it was simply awe inspiring to watch Jamarcus throw the football. We were in every game, and I never felt like we were out of any game until it was over.

That is actually how I've felt watching this team too. I've loved watching Mett Jarvis Odell and Hill blossom. This has been a great year, and losing a close game on the road to a decent team hasn't ruined that for me.

The way the team fought back from a 17 point second half deficit to tie it up at the end gave me a lot of pride, and I'm excited to watch this group for 4 more regular season games and whatever postseason games we get the pleasure of watching.

2007 was hands-down the most exciting year in college football. We back our way into a championship, but we still won the damn thing.

2011 for me (up till the last game of course)

That year was great. Team was exciting. Only games I wasnt in attendance for were West Virginia, Ole Miss, and the SEC championship game. It was so fun to watch that year.

2001 was the shite. Watched it at a sports bar here in Ga. The second I walk in, some orange checkered Tennessee chick gives me shite. Shakes her Pom Pom in my face. I admit, I thought we had no shot. That shot lessened with the injury of Toefield and Rohan. What a magical comeback. Domanick Davis, Mauck and T Daniels giving up his redshirt just to help the team. He comes up with a huge int. Needless to say, being in a Ga sports bar, I had a lot of people cheering in my corner. I got so drunk that I was "Riverdancing" on the stage and the bouncers became my backup. We had the whole bar singing, "Rocky Top- you'll always be SECOND IN THE SEC! "
2003 answered a prayer I sent up many times. "God, please let the tigers win just one championship in my lifetime"
All of the magic of 2011 was erased by 1-9-12. I woke up the next day feeling like we finished the yr @ 0-12

I think many LSU fans would love this result. It's kind of hard to enjoy though since it hasn't happened since the '06 season

The best part of 2001 is when Reed had a field say against the gumps and embaressed them royally.

i liked 2005.....i think that season is underrated. We lost in overtime to Tennessee (Rick Clausen...really?) and then got hammered in the SEC championship game, but that season was exciting and at a time when the fan base really stuck together with all that was going on in the state. We wrecked miami and I really think that was a moment of, LSU has arrived. They are no one hit wonder.
TD.com was the most fun that year, my first year on TD. All of the gifs of Katrina and Miles after the Tenn game loss had me rolling on the floor day after day. I guess it was a way of letting off steam about the storm. Also I think the persona of LSUFreek was born that year so in that sense it was a banner year.

I'm with you on 2001. I think a lot of LSU fans have become spoiled nowadays to winning and don't remember what it used to be like when we got blown out by Florida every year. We were so freaking happy to be 8-3, rushed the field several games, tore the goal posts down, beat Tennessee in OT, beat Auburn to go to Atlanta, man that was a great year.

Really though, if Mauck doesn't come in and run on every play then LSU loses. Frankly, LSU just saved Tenn from a humiliation against Miami. They should thank us.
