A million here, a million there, and pretty soon it adds up to real money.

that really has nothing to do with the costs of such a project

Of course it does.
please dont try to get into this type of discussion with me. i do this for a living

they will need at least one contractor/supervisor, asbestos workers, and an asbestos contractor supervisor to do third-party asbestos air monitoring. count on the monitoring to run $400-$500 per day (all inclusive of equipment, PCM cassettes, and reading of results)

we had a company give us pricing on asbestos abatement for these storage tanks, but i'm not about to think its comparable to what would need to be done in that stadium, or the massive capacity it would need to be done at.

i am not an abatement contractor, but a very safe estimate for removal of ALL windows would be $800-$1,000/window. So a $2,800-$3,000 window and install would be quite insane.

I was thinking around the same thing. Def not 2,000. That's crazy overpriced.

More than likely the glazing and caulk in these windows contain asbestos. This means a licensed abatement contractor must be hired to remove and dispose of the windows. The general or glass contractor can not just send man to a forty hour course and be certified to demo asbestos. Anyone who is familar with construction can tell you that this is a very expensive process.

I have a GC License in three states (not La.) and am a certified environmental specialist.

$2000 per window is CHEAP.

With the height of some of the windows (which will not all be reachable by lift so there would be scaffolding involved) plus the contingency of dealing with Asbestos and mold more than likely you will have to erect a containment barrier as well so this not just a call the glass doctor to fix your pane window project.

But maybe if Miles didn't suck it would only be half....

If Saban were still here this would probably only cost us about $1,000 per window

They still would have to be licensed through the state board of contractors (seperate license. Can not be added as a classification to existing license).

This has to be a turn-key price for the entire project divided by the number of windows + a little L$U pocked lining money...

For a job like this there is a lot of overhead and T&M on one window can be high, especially with elevated work, I will give them that, but once again---its all about money.
