seems like it should.

Removing asbestos is VERY VERY expensive and right now, the money is just not there with all the state cut backs.

if the windows have compound bends they are more expensive, but 2000 for each unit is high.

There are also handling charges, packing charges, installation charges, taxes and fees, personal window "licenses", referral charges, recharges, back charges, interest, delivery charges, union dues, advertising fees, dealer prep, trial prep, lab work, etc., all of that stuff adds up.

Would it be logical to rent out stadium rooms for game days to help pay for restoration expenses on the rooms and windows that need the attention? Or are they all condemed? Just wondering.

2000 per window is beyond retarded

But what can you expect from government?

It'll be the slowest contractor too.

What a joke

$4000.00 per window is crazy expensive...imagine what the rest of the stadium will cost.

So we replace the windows and remove the asbestos.....Whats left inside the stadium? Vacant space? Are all the dorm rooms and bathromms areas being ripped out? Not sure what the plan is here?

$2000 per window sounds inflated and sounds like it has turned into a money-raiser. I don't have a problem if that is the case as long as it is known what the money will be used for (a trust fund for continuing improvements to TS for example).

The brochure says "Contributions in excess of the window replacement cost will be used to establish a Tiger Stadium maintenance reserve account."

My guess is that government employees are not doing the actual work of replacing the windows. It will be good ole private enterprise sucking on the guvmnt tit again, arse raping the government again...

If this would be anywhere else in the SEC, the old dorm rooms would have already been totally gutted and renovated OR totally torn out, demolished and replaced with something that is useful and aesthetically pleasing. Makes no sense what-so-ever to put expensive windows in if those rooms are not going to renovated and used. Huge waste of money. They should just remove all the windows/frames and put in some kind of Roman Coliseum style facade to match the architecture of the stadium.(Arches)..........

the windows would be removed all and all sent to a landfill that accepts asbestos waste

the only way i can see price skyrocketing is if they mandate containment with HEPA filters on each individual window. that would really slow down the process and jack up the costs

as i said in another thread, this is another case of people not knowing how much things really cost. $4K/window just comes off as absurd.

Asbestos abatement class is 8 hours and is provided locally at the BR safety council.

that is to be an asbestos worker

any contractor will already have all their guys certified

to be an asbestos contractor/supervisor, it's a 40-hour course with an 8-hour yearly refresher

that really has nothing to do with the costs of such a project

It depends on the job. Some jobs require less training. Not every worker is going to get the 40 hour course. Just the supervisor or lead guy.

Of course it does.
