I was there under the old scoreboard in the North Endzone in the student section.

This was the appetizer before the entree. I think part of that banner passed through my portion of the student section.

It was the "Work 'em Silly, Gators" banner that they do for pretty much every game. Yeah, some students ran out and ripped it out of their hands and the entire student section was basically

in san diego, just outside camp pendleton. Watched it with 3 other marine buddies after a softball tournament. One from boston, one from north carolina and one from utah.....and as someone else mentioned, they were all pulling for florida to lose as much as i was pulling for lsu to win.

Live in NO and I had a 5:00 AM flight Sunday morning to Charlotte, NC & did not want to go to the game, but had invited a friend and his son to go so could not back out - son had never been to Tiger Stadium and really wanted to go - Driving up I told them I NEVER LEAVE TIGER STADIUM UNTIL THE GAME IS OVER, but with the early flight we might leave early if the game got out of hand. As we were arriving home in NO the next morning just before I was to catch my flight I told my friends son that he could not have picked a better first time in Tiger Stadium. What a night and what a game.

I was only 10 and was in my home in Columbus, MS, jumping up and down when Donaldson's pick six happened! Fun night...then Ole Miss came the next week.

I was 12 years old and really was at the game, still is the best game i've ever been to and i really don't see anything topping it. the national titles were great but this was the crowining moment in my childhood football memories and i don't think anything will be able to surpass it

I didn't think I'd need to post in this thread since it was for people that DIDN'T go to that game, but the ones who attended cannot resist the chance to let everyone know how cool they are for being in Tiger Stadium that night.

I was driving from Savannah to Atlanta listening to a very weak WWL signal. We completely lost reception in the 4th quarter, and I did not find out until a couple of angst-filled hours later that the Tigers had hung on to win.

I still have that Sunday morning's Advocate.

I was in Canada, visiting my future in-laws for the first time. I didn't know we'd won until I think the following Monday on the drive back when we stopped at a gas station in upstate NY and I got some podunk paper. There was a one paragraph story about the win...I still remember hollering and stuff when I read it in the store.

Watched in BR with my family, including my 83 old mother who was dying with cancer, but who watched the whole game and laughed at all our hooping and hollering.

She was an LSU grad, met my Dad there and had listened to or watched LSU games ever since.

See link for something related to that night and our family that I wrote about that night years later as UF/LSU approached in 2009.LINK

Thanks for your service, sir!!

I ALMOST missed the game, because...

I was a senior in Mechanical Engineering and my girlfriend had surgery on Thursday or Friday. She was still groggy from the meds but in pretty bad pain.

I spent Friday night with her at her family's in Mandeville/Covington. Saturday morning, we watched ESPNGameDay in their living room, with her on the couch. I recall Spurrier saying, outside of Tiger Stadium (likely tape from Friday walk-through) "Why is ESPN here? Isn't Michigan playing today?"

I was gritting my teeth!! Nine consecutive losses and I'd really, really, really had ENOUGH!! She saw me getting fired-up. But I was there to take care of her.

Then she said "sweetie, you should go to the game if you want to, my Mom will take care of me."

I think I scooted out of there like a lightning bolt!! Nothing against her, but I did NOT wanna miss that game!!!

i was in the student section. i had foam from the goal post padding, and grass from the end zone. i would like to say that's my favorite game i've ever been to but i think i enjoyed vs UF 07 more (though i wasn't a student then)

This without the goal post padding. The grass is stuffed in the Sports illustrated with Faulk on the cover.

I got the first down marker!!! My Dad took out his pocket knife, cut the long part of the marker off the pole, gave it to an uncle & told him to go one way, we got the big orange circle & headed the other way. Figured at least one of us would get out with a piece. Worked out great, both pieces came home. THe top part is hanging on a wall in my house. We had to laugh pretty hard the next week when we saw the little puney replacement markers.
